Job Duties:

A full-time, professional academic staff position is available in Alumni Office beginning December 1, 2026. The working title for this assignment is Alumni Engagement Coordinator with an official title of Alumni Relations Officer.

The Alumni Relations Officer manages the major functions of alumni engagement at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.

• Plans and leads the implementation of major alumni events, and activities in alignment with strategic initiatives and objectives, including homecoming, award programs, young alumni focus, networking and social activities, and resource development. 35%
• Maintain the Alumni Board information, complete responsibility for planning of all Alumni Board meetings. Works with other key staff to craft and execute a strategic plan that engages alumni in key areas of the university – recruitment and retention. 30%
• Monitors, organizes, and updates donor records, and implements operating policies and procedures. 10%
• Assists in the development and implementation of alumni relations goals to promote alumni impact and fundraising activities in alignment with the strategic plan. 10%
• Develops, implements, and monitors institutional communication and branding campaigns and programs. 10%
• Review annual budget for the Alumni Association office with Foundation Leadership and manage proper controls for planning and executing budget monthly. 5%

Key Job Responsibilities:

• Serves as a unit liaison for internal and external stakeholders, answers questions, and provides information about established programs based on set material or standards

• Plans, directs, and executes alumni visits and discovery calls, passing leads to the appropriate major gift officers to cultivate relationships to assist in achieving established donor goals

• Plans and leads the implementation of major alumni events, volunteer committees, and activities in alignment with strategic initiatives and objectives

• Leads the development, production, and dissemination of communication and branding strategies and materials for the unit

• Identifies data trends, errors, and insufficient data; and reports variances according to established policies and procedures

• Monitors, organizes, and updates donor records, and implements operating policies and procedures

Department:

The Foundation and Alumni office consists of 25 colleagues focused on and committed to the proactive engagement of alumni and friends in supporting the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. This includes giving programs to effectively generate private resources for the University’s benefit and events across the U.S. to engage and steward alumni. The unit works to effectively communicate with 100,000 Blugolds alumni and more than 10,000 annual donors to the UW-Eau Claire Foundation. Compensation:

The salary range for this position is $55,000-65,000. Commensurate on qualifications and experience.

Required Qualifications:

A bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution is required. Position requires strong organizational, written, and oral communication skills to interact effectively with donors, alumni, students, board members and staff. Must be detail oriented, proficient with Microsoft Office suite and experienced with event planning.

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior university or non-profit experience and/or experience working with boards. Ability to maintain confidential information and records. Demonstrated commitment to planning quality events and programming.
