Job Description
Team Summary:
Visa’s Tech Partnerships team leads Visa’s strategic engagement with the technology and FinTech ecosystem and helps shape the company’s external digital narrative. The team builds commercial partnerships and strategic investments with industry-leading digital brands, platform providers, and FinTechs headquartered in Greater China. By combining Visa’s global networks and capabilities with partners’ technology, platforms, and ecosystems, Tech Partnerships drives payment innovation, unlocks new business opportunities, and positions Visa as the trusted partner of choice.
What a Director, Tech Partnerships does at Visa:
Based in Shenzhen, the Director, Tech Partnerships will own a portfolio of priority digital-native and technology partners across South China. Combining strategic account leadership, business development, complex deal execution, and cross-functional orchestration, the role will connect partner priorities with Visa’s capabilities to strengthen the core business, unlock new opportunities, and drive sustainable growth.
- Develop and execute end-to-end strategies for strategic accounts, translating partner priorities, market trends, and Visa’s strategic objectives into unified account plans, actionable roadmaps, and measurable commercial outcomes.
- Build multi-level strategic engagement and partnerships across partner organizations, from senior executives and business leaders to product and technology teams, creating strong alignment, identifying shared priorities, and establishing Visa as a trusted long-term partner.
- Leverage technology partnerships to accelerate Visa’s business growth, scale successful solutions across partners and markets, strengthen Visa’s position in the digital ecosystem, and create new sources of revenue, payment volume, and strategic value.
- Identify and shape high-value collaboration opportunities across Agentic Commerce, cross-border payments, B2B and money movement, platform integrations, and other emerging payment flows, co-creating innovative solutions that shape the future of payments, address evolving partner and customer needs, and expand Visa’s role in the digital commerce ecosystem.
- Lead cross-functional and cross-regional teams from strategy through execution, drive timely alignment and decision-making in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment, resolving roadblocks, securing critical resources, and accelerating internal processes to maintain momentum across complex, multi-market initiatives.
Why this is important to Visa:
The backbone of cross-border commerce and money movement increasingly runs through China's digital-native enterprises and major internet platforms. These companies orchestrate consumer journeys, merchant ecosystems, payments, data flows, and emerging AI-enabled experiences. This role will help Visa expand beyond traditional financial institution partnerships and strengthen its position across e-commerce, digital wallets, social and content platforms, online travel, mobility, gaming, and foundation-model ecosystems.
The successful candidate can shape partnerships that influence Visa's future in cross-border payments, Agentic Commerce, B2B & money movement, and next-generation payment experiences. The work will open scalable growth channels, improve Visa's relevance with technology leaders, and connect regional opportunities with Visa's global capabilities.
Visa requires at least 3 days in office, expectations of these days will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.
