Role summary: Walmart is seeking a Senior Technician, Facility Services, HVAC/Refrigeration, to oversee installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC and refrigeration systems across commercial and industrial sites. About the team: The Facility Services HVAC/Refrigeration team leads the installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial and industrial systems, ensuring operational excellence and compliance with safety standards. This team manages complex diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and refrigerant handling while coordinating resources and vendor relationships. Members collaborate closely to deliver timely solutions, support continuous improvement, and mentor colleagues. They uphold high standards of integrity and professionalism, driving efficiency and reliability across facilities. The team embraces challenges with a focus on quality, safety, and customer satisfaction, contributing to the overall success of Walmart’s operations. What you'll do:

• Oversee installation, commissioning, and maintenance of HVAC/R systems, including ductwork, control panels, and refrigeration units.
• Lead diagnostics and troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant issues across commercial and industrial equipment.
• Implement and monitor preventive maintenance programs to optimize equipment performance and reduce downtime.
• Manage refrigerant handling, ensuring compliance with OSHA, EPA, and environmental regulations.
• Coordinate and mentor field teams, providing hands-on training and evaluating technician skill development.
• Maintain parts inventory, vendor relationships, and service schedules to meet business priorities.
• Participate in on-call rotation to support critical operational needs outside regular hours.

What you'll bring:

• Extensive experience in installation, commissioning, and maintenance of HVAC/R systems, including refrigeration units and control panels.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills for mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant-related issues in commercial and industrial environments.
• Proven ability to lead and mentor field teams, providing hands-on training and evaluating technician performance.
• Knowledge of OSHA standards, EPA refrigerant handling protocols, and compliance with federal, state, and local HVAC/R codes.
• Effective coordination of service calls, parts inventory management, and vendor relationships to meet operational priorities.
• Ability to manage on-call responsibilities and respond promptly to critical service needs.
• Skilled in documenting work orders, maintenance logs, and submitting accurate reports.

The hourly wage range for this position is $35.00 - $70.00*

*The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location.

Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.

Minimum Qualifications...

Outlined below are the required minimum qualifications for this position. If none are listed, there are no minimum qualifications.

Option 1: 3 years’ experience in HVAC/grocery rack refrigeration. Option 2: 6 years’ experience in HVAC/grocery rack refrigeration and Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration. Hold and maintain Type I and Type II or Universal Environmental Protection Agency certification for refrigerant handling. Where required, HVAC-R/ Mechanical Journeyman. 1 year’s experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area or 2 years’ Walmart store experience. Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report. Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI within the last five (5) years. Commercial driving record with no more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years. No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years. No serious traffic violations, as defined by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
