Job description

About the company: 50 Sport is The Sports Entertainment Agency.

We build and grow social communities, deliver entertainment-led creative campaigns, and drive sponsorship value; connecting fans, brands, and rights holders worldwide. Uniting sport, entertainment, and culture through industry-leading creativity, social media, strategy and performance for clients including Scuderia Ferrari F1 Team, FIFA World Cup 2026, FIFA Club World Cup 2025, Prime Video Sport, Jim Beam and Qatar Airways.

We are looking for an Executive Social Media & Content Director to join our Executive team and lead our largest and most ambitious department.

About the role: The Executive Social Media & Content Director is one of the most influential leadership roles within 50 Sport, sitting on the Executive team and leading our largest department.

Responsible for overseeing a social media and content team of approximately 75+ people, this role owns the vision, strategy and performance of social media across the business. The successful candidate will define and drive the department's North Star, setting the standards, ambition and direction for all social and content work delivered by 50 Sport.

They will ensure every piece of work produced by the team is best-in-class, culturally relevant, creatively ambitious and capable of delivering measurable growth for our clients. This leader will champion excellence across the department, creating work that not only performs commercially but also wins industry recognition and sets new benchmarks within sport.

A core focus of the role is helping brands and rights holders connect more meaningfully with audiences through social media and content. They will lead the development of innovative strategies, formats and campaigns that sit at the intersection of sport, culture and conversation, ensuring our clients remain relevant, influential and ahead of the market.

The Executive Social Media & Content Director will oversee the entire social media function, currently supported by a Head of Social, while also helping shape the future structure and growth of the department. As 50 Sport continues to expand, they will play a pivotal role in building an even bigger, stronger and more ambitious social media and content offering.

Reporting directly to the founders, this role represents one of the most exciting leadership opportunities in sports marketing and social media today - offering the chance to shape the future of one of the industry's leading sports entertainment agencies and lead a team responsible for some of the most impactful work in sport.

About you:

This role is for you if you:

  • Are a senior leader with extensive experience running large social media and content teams, ideally within a creative or sports marketing agency.
  • Have a proven track record of building and executing award-winning social media strategies for major brands, rights holders or global sports properties.
  • Think at the intersection of sport, culture and conversation - you instinctively understand what makes content connect with audiences and drives real impact.
  • Are a visionary creative leader who sets the bar for excellence and inspires teams to produce their best work.
  • Have the commercial acumen to translate creative ambition into measurable client outcomes and business growth.
  • Are experienced managing and developing large, multi-disciplinary teams, with a passion for nurturing talent and building high-performing cultures.
  • Can confidently operate at executive level, contributing to broader agency strategy, new business development and senior client relationships.
  • Have a deep understanding of all major social platforms - their formats, algorithms, audiences and the creative strategies that drive growth across each.
  • Are forward-thinking and culturally plugged in, with a clear point of view on where social media and content are heading.
  • Are an exceptional communicator who can articulate creative vision, inspire confidence in clients and rally a department around a shared ambition.
  • Are resilient, decisive and energised by the pace and pressure of a fast-growing, ambitious agency.
  • Have a genuine passion for sport and understand how it uniquely intersects with culture, entertainment and audience behaviour.

  • Oversee all social media output across the agency, ensuring every piece of work is best-in-class, on-brand and delivers measurable results for clients.
  • Lead the development of innovative social and content strategies for brands and rights holders, driving audience growth, engagement and cultural relevance.
  • Develop and implement new formats, platforms and approaches that keep 50 Sport and its clients at the forefront of the industry.
  • Operate as a key member of the executive team, contributing to agency-wide strategy, vision and major business decisions.
  • Play an active role in new business pitches, helping to position and differentiate 50 Sport's social and content proposition.
  • Build and maintain senior-level client relationships, acting as the executive lead on the agency's most significant social and content accounts.
  • Work closely with the Head of Social and other department leaders to shape team structure, processes and ways of working as the department continues to grow.
  • Set the conditions for the department to win industry awards and recognition, championing work that sets new benchmarks within sport.
  • Champion diversity, equity and inclusion within the department, helping to build a team that reflects the audiences and communities we serve.
  • Stay ahead of platform developments, cultural trends and emerging technologies, bringing fresh thinking and innovation into the department's output.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
