The posting

Join AACo in 2027 in the iconic Victoria River District (VRD), home to our Brahman live export cattle operations. Opportunities are available across La Belle, Delamere, Montejinni and Camfield Stations, each offering a unique outback experience.

The VRD is renowned for its breathtaking landscapes, incredible fishing spots, rich cattle country and strong station communities. From the expansive floodplains of La Belle to the rugged beauty and wide-open spaces of our other properties, every station offers something different, but all share the same spirit of adventure, teamwork and opportunity.

Whether you're looking to kick-start your career in agriculture, build on your station background, or immerse yourself in an authentic outback lifestyle, this is your chance to develop your skills, make great friends and discover one of Australia's most stunning cattle regions.

Who are we:

Established in 1824, Australian Agricultural Company (AACo) is one of Australia’s largest integrated cattle and beef producers and is the country’s oldest continuously operating company. Today, AACo owns and operates a strategic balance of stations, feedlots and farms spanning approximately 6.5 million hectares of land across Queensland and the Northern Territory.

We are fostering a culture that values safety, inclusion and opportunity, and are committed to integrating care for our people, animals and land into the way we do business - Reimagining Australian agriculture to share with the world - and we’d love you to join us.

Key Responsibilities:

No two days are the same on our stations. As a Station Hand, you'll play an important role in supporting daily cattle and station operations, including:

  • Mustering, drafting and processing cattle.
  • Supporting livestock movements, including trucking operations.
  • Operating horses, motorbikes, vehicles and station machinery.
  • Assisting with general station maintenance and upkeep.
  • Distributing feed supplements and supporting animal welfare activities.
  • Contributing to a safe working environment by following safe work practices and looking out for your teammates.

Required Skills & Experience:

We’re looking for team players who enjoy working outdoors, are eager to learn, and have a genuine passion for the cattle industry.

  • Previous horse-riding, livestock handling or station experience.
  • A current driver's licence and motorbike licence.
  • A current Q Fever vaccination (or willingness to obtain).
  • A positive attitude, strong work ethic and willingness to be part of station life.

Why the Victoria River District?

Whilst each station has its own unique character, facilities and team culture, you'll find the same sense of community, opportunity and adventure across every location.

Here's what you can look forward to:

  • Build your cattle handling and horsemanship skills alongside experienced station teams.
  • Comfortable air-conditioned accommodation and prepared meals provided.
  • Opportunities to transfer to other AACo properties as roles become available.
  • Supportive teams that work hard, celebrate successes and enjoy the journey together.
  • Strong horse culture and the opportunity to ride quality station horses.
  • Some of the Territory's best fishing spots right on your doorstep.
  • Experience diverse landscapes, from vast floodplains to rugged escarpments and rolling cattle country.
  • The Australian outback at its best.

Join for a season. Stay for a lifetime.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
