Job Description

Purpose:

The Director Learning and Knowledge Management partners with the Senior Director, Global Training Strategy & Effectiveness to design and execute the vision for a learning organization across global Operations. Reporting to the Senior Director, this leader translates the global training strategy and framework into integrated learning and knowledge management programs that strengthen workforce capability, enable knowledge sharing, and support compliance and operational excellence. The role works closely with global, regional, and local Operations leaders and cross-functional partners to deliver scalable, fit-for-purpose learning solutions, embed continuous learning into everyday work, and measure impact, while the Senior Director retains accountability for the overall vision and strategic framework.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the Senior Director to shape priorities and translate the global vision and strategic framework into integrated Learning and Knowledge Management roadmaps and an executable portfolio of initiatives aligned to agreed strategic priorities, working with global, regional, and local Operations leaders to address evolving business, workforce capability, and knowledge needs.
  • Lead the design, prioritization, deployment, and continuous improvement of a portfolio of global Learning and Knowledge Management initiatives, collaborating across Operations and supporting functions to ensure alignment, scalability, consistency, and measurable business value.
  • Lead the implementation and ongoing optimization of high-impact learning programs and platforms supporting Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and other Operations priorities; manage milestones, risks, dependencies, resources, and stakeholder alignment, and escalate strategic decisions as appropriate.
  • Lead the development, delivery, and lifecycle management of role-based learning, capability-building, and onboarding solutions, partnering with subject matter experts and business leaders to ensure solutions are scalable, fit for purpose, and aligned with global standards and business objectives.
  • Design and implement scalable Knowledge Management practices and solutions that enable the capture, curation, maintenance, sharing, and reuse of critical knowledge, expertise, lessons learned, and best practices; enable communities of practice and effective knowledge transfer across functions, regions, and sites.
  • Lead change and adoption strategies for major Learning and Knowledge Management transformations, including stakeholder alignment, change-impact assessment, communications, readiness, adoption, and sustainment, in partnership with Human Resources, Change Management, Quality, and Operations leaders.
  • Support the Senior Director in establishing global learning and knowledge standards, governance, and operating practices, and lead implementation of agreed approaches for content ownership, lifecycle management, review, and compliance in partnership with Quality and other relevant functions.
  • Partner with the Senior Director to shape digital learning and knowledge platform priorities and lead the evaluation, implementation, adoption, and optimization of approved solutions with technology partners. Apply modern adult learning, digital, blended, and experiential methodologies to enable continuous learning, knowledge sharing, and operational excellence.
  • Develop, manage, and continuously improve the measurement framework and KPIs for the Learning and Knowledge Management portfolio, assessing learning effectiveness, application, adoption, knowledge reuse, capability improvement, and business impact; provide insights and recommendations to inform global priorities and continuous improvement.
  • Lead and develop Learning and Knowledge Management teams and manage resources, budgets, external partners, and vendors within the assigned portfolio, while building strong partnerships across Operations, Human Resources, Quality, Technology, and other functions to identify capability needs, support workforce development, and advance innovative Learning and Knowledge Management practices.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or professional certification in learning and development, knowledge management, organizational development, or a related discipline preferred.
  • Experience: 10+ years of substantial progressive experience in training, learning and development, knowledge management, or a related discipline in a regulated industry, including management experience leading teams and global or cross-regional initiatives.
  • Deep, practical understanding of modern adult learning principles, digital, blended, and experiential learning methodologies, and operational excellence principles.
  • Demonstrated success designing and delivering scalable learning programs and implementing knowledge capture, sharing, and reuse practices in a highly matrixed, multicultural environment.
  • Strong knowledge of compliance, quality, and regulatory requirements across Operations functions and the ability to incorporate these into learning programs and governance practices.
  • Proven ability to build partnerships, lead through influence, and support organizational change across regions and cultures.
  • Experience implementing governance structures and developing KPIs to measure and enhance learning effectiveness and knowledge management impact.

Excellent communication, program planning, people leadership, and execution skills, with the ability to translate strategic direction into practical delivery plans and manage competing priorities.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
