Job Summary

Lead and supervise project construction activities as the Contractor’s principal representative, ensuring compliance with specifications, schedules, and safety standards in process and petrochemical plant projects.

Responsibilities

  • Organize, supervise, and direct project construction activities to meet project specifications and schedules as the Contractor’s principal representative to the Owner at the jobsite
  • Develop preliminary construction plans including organization, staffing, and administration, subject to Project Manager review
  • Analyze project specifications to plan construction procedures and monitor procurement of equipment and materials to align with work schedules
  • Finalize assignment of field construction personnel and mobilize manpower; assemble project team at project start
  • Authorize purchase of work and services from outside sources or subcontractors in line with construction policy and project economics
  • Coordinate with supervisory personnel and subcontractors to plan and execute work procedures, interpret specifications, and prevent construction delays
  • Approve field construction schedules and procedures to ensure quality workmanship, safety, and on-time performance
  • Serve as liaison between Contractor and Owner’s representatives to clarify and interpret project specifications
  • Collect and review progress reports on materials, manpower, and costs from subordinates; adjust work schedules accordingly
  • Inspect ongoing work to verify conformity with specifications and develop new construction methods to address unusual circumstances or changes
  • Approve jobsite expenditures by reviewing cost records, workmanship, material quality and quantity, scheduling, and procurement
  • Approve and enforce safety procedures for all site workers to ensure compliance with safety standards

Preferred competencies and qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree holder in Engineering field
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in oil & gas or chemical construction industry
  • Experience executing construction in process/petrochemical plants and storage terminals
  • Demonstrated ability to lead supervisors and workers to meet project requirements and schedules
  • Proven independence, resourcefulness, diligence, and teamwork skills
  • Capability to perform hands-on duties using acquired skills and knowledge
