About the role | Mō te tūranga mahi

Are you ready to step into a role where your advice helps shapes the decisions that matter across ACC?

As Lead Advisor, Enterprise Risk, you will play a key role in shaping risk thinking and influencing decision-making across ACC. This is a high-impact, relationship-led role where you will act as a trusted second-line advisor to Deputy Chief Executives, senior leaders and business groups. Working as part of a small, high-performing Enterprise Risk team, you will have your own portfolio of business groups, providing pragmatic advice that helps leaders navigate uncertainty and make confident, risk-informed decisions.

You will lead quarterly enterprise risk reviews and workshops, constructively challenging thinking on controls, treatment strategies and risk appetite. You will connect risk insights, trends and emerging themes to help the Executive and Board understand what matters and where attention is needed, while coaching and influencing business groups to strengthen risk practices. You will also contribute to the continuous improvement of risk frameworks, tools, training and guidance, helping turn ambition into practice and supporting better information, better conversations and better decisions. Through this work, you will contribute to keeping Kiwis safe at work, at home, and everywhere in between.

The salary range for this role is $117,787 to $166,288 based on experience. ACC offers a comprehensive benefits package which at present includes an advantageous superannuation scheme (9% contribution) with features like no mandatory employee contribution, optional life and income protection insurance.

  • Five or more years' experience working in a risk, compliance, assurance or risk advisory function.
  • Practical experience applying risk frameworks within a complex organisation.
  • Proven ability to develop trust and credibility with senior leaders and staff, building strong working relationships for mutual benefit.
  • The confidence to facilitate meaningful risk conversations and constructively challenge thinking on controls, treatment strategies and risk appetite.
  • The ability to connect risk insights, trends and emerging themes to support effective senior-level decision-making.
  • Sound judgement, an even temperament and the ability to influence and motivate others.
  • Adaptability, including the ability to respond quickly to new information or areas of work and manage your time effectively.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • You must hold New Zealand work rights at the time of application.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
