THE ROLE:
As a Product Development Engineer, you will collaborate with cross-functional product development teams to bring up and ramp next-generation AMD microprocessors. You will plan, debug, and support manufacturing and characterization test programs, working closely with engineering partners to improve test quality, production readiness, and product performance. This role offers hands-on experience across first-silicon validation, test development, characterization, and mass-production enablement.
THE PERSON:
The successful candidate is accountable for the accuracy, reliability, and completeness of work that is critical to project success. You are analytical, detail-oriented, collaborative, and comfortable solving complex technical problems in a fast-paced product-development environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Validate new product features, test conditions, methodologies, and test content during first-silicon bring-up.
- Bring up and debug post-silicon test patterns, then optimize them to support mass-production enablement.
- Analyze part failures, identify root causes, and implement test improvements that strengthen product quality and coverage.
- Develop, debug, test, and characterize test patterns and test flows for new products.
- Collaborate with product development, design, validation, and manufacturing partners to achieve product bring-up and ramp objectives.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Knowledge of scripting languages such as Perl, Ruby, or shell scripting.
- Good understanding of Linux, Unix, or Windows operating systems.
- Experience with Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) testing is preferred.
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a comparable discipline is preferred.
