The posting

Position Overview We are looking for a hands-on Software Engineer to join our India GCC team, working on distributed software platforms, messaging systems, and test orchestration for Advantest's semiconductor test solutions. This role owns design, development, and integration across .NET/C# based systems with real-time messaging infrastructure (Kafka/Pulsar), collaborating closely with global engineering teams. This is an ownership-driven role - we are looking for a go-getter who takes end-to-end accountability for their systems, not just someone who executes tickets. Key Responsibilities • Design, and develop software components for Advantest’s Semiconductor test orchestration programme, equipment integration, messaging, and data services • Drive Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) practices, with strong emphasis on unit and integration test coverage • Remain significantly hands-on in coding, integration, testing, and debugging. • Build cross-platform applications, APIs, SDKs, and services using C#, .NET, and related frameworks • Develop and maintain distributed messaging and data pipelines using Apache Kafka or Apache Pulsar • Work with relational databases (PostgreSQL or similar) for data persistence and telemetry • Debug system-level issues spanning software, communication layers, and integration points • Collaborate directly with global engineering teams (including US-based teams) during design, integration, and deployment cycles • Gather requirements from internal stakeholders and cross-functional/cross-BU partners, clearly communicate tradeoffs and technical decisions • Take ownership of features and modules from design through to production deployment Required Qualifications • Strong hands-on expertise in .NET echo system, C#/.NET, including multithreading, asynchronous programming, and API design • Practical experience with a distributed messaging platform - Apache Kafka or Apache Pulsar or any similar platform. • Solid grounding in TDD and BDD methodologies, with real project experience applying them • Working knowledge of TCP/IP, HTTP, and related networking/communication protocols • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience) • Strong debugging skills across distributed, multi-component systems • An ownership mentality - someone who proactively identifies problems, drives them to resolution, and doesn't wait to be told what to do Preferred Qualifications • Experience integrating software with hardware, firmware, drivers, or industrial/test equipment systems • Experience working with globally distributed engineering teams, especially in a US-collaboration model • Prior experience in semiconductor, industrial automation, or test & measurement domains (a plus, not mandatory) Additional Requirements • On-site role based in Chennai, India (no hybrid/remote) • Strong written and verbal communication skills - this role requires direct collaboration with global stakeholders • Willingness to occasionally align working hours with global teams for critical integration/deployment windows

  • 1–5 years of software engineering experience with demonstrated technical ownership
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Electronics, or a related discipline

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
