Job Description

Is your Superpower in the "wizardry" of System Design and Management? Our world-class Lansdale Systems Engineering team needs your skills! We are seeking a Systems Engineering Manager to lead a talented group of engineers developing advanced Electronic Warfare (EW) solutions that support critical defense missions across air, land, and maritime platforms. In this role, you will shape technical strategy, drive program execution, mentor engineering talent, and help deliver innovative technologies that protect our customers and warfighters.

Our team designs, analyze, plans, and develop major subsystems and small-scale systems. Systems are primarily in the RF Electronic Warfare (EW) business area that includes Radar Warning (RW), Situational Awareness, Interferometry/Direction Finding (DF), Electronic Attack (EA), as well as Self-Protect RF Counter Measures (RFCM) including on-/off-board systems. The candidates will provide leadership for key project segments and take responsibility for achievement of schedule and technical performance by all department personnel.

The ideal candidate is a leader with a strong systems engineering background who takes a structured approach to development for project design, estimation, execution, and performance tracking. The individual must have a propensity to create designs and provide technical insight to ensure that designs achieve “best value” goals of meeting performance and life cycle requirements within allocated budget and schedule constraints. The team generates circuit analysis for system-level specifications or RF components based on performance, schedule, cost, reliability, and manufacturability goals. This could include any combination of technical research, test, documentation, and presentation. This role works closely with other engineering disciplines to help drive a strong engineering organization that delivers quality products on-time and on-budget.

Are you an engineering leader who thrives on solving complex technical challenges and developing high-performing teams?

Responsibilities

What You'll Do

As the Systems Engineering Manager, you will provide both technical and organizational leadership for a multidisciplinary engineering team supporting development programs and independent research initiatives.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of systems engineers across multiple programs and technology efforts.
  • Drive workforce planning, recruiting, mentoring, succession planning, and career development.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Establish department goals, performance metrics, and resource strategies to support business objectives.

Program & Technical Leadership

  • Ensure technical, schedule, cost, and quality objectives are achieved across development efforts.
  • Guide systems engineering activities throughout the product lifecycle, including requirements development, architecture definition, integration, verification, and release.
  • Support proposal and capture activities through technical planning, architecture development, cost estimation, and work breakdown structure creation.
  • Lead trade studies and technical decision-making to balance performance, cost, schedule, reliability, and manufacturability objectives.
  • Collaborate with engineering, program management, business development, and operations teams to ensure successful program execution.

Strategic Impact

  • Define and execute the strategic vision for the Systems Engineering organization.
  • Contribute to technology roadmaps and Internal Research & Development (IRAD) investment strategies.
  • Drive the adoption of engineering best practices to improve efficiency, quality, and product delivery.
  • Help shape future products and solutions through technical innovation and customer engagement.

Technical Environment

Our teams develop advanced RF and Electronic Warfare systems, including:

  • Radar Warning (RW) Systems
  • Electronic Attack (EA) Systems
  • Situational Awareness Solutions
  • Interferometry and Direction Finding (DF)
  • RF Countermeasure Systems (RFCM)
  • Airborne, Maritime, and Ground-Based Platforms
  • Digital, Analog, RF, Firmware, and Software Integrated Systems

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Systems Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • 3+ years of experience leading engineering teams or large technical programs.
  • Experience managing program budgets, schedules, resources, and technical execution.
  • 5+ years of experience in systems engineering, including requirements development, decomposition, and management.
  • 12+ years of engineering experience developing or integrating complex systems involving hardware, software, RF, digital, analog, mechanical, or embedded technologies.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across organizations.
  • Ability to travel occasionally in support of customer, industry, or program activities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience within the defense, aerospace, intelligence, or Electronic Warfare industries.
  • Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
  • Experience with earned value management, resource planning, and project scheduling tools.
  • Background in system architecture development, trade studies, and performance modeling.
  • Experience developing or integrating RF systems and components.
  • Understanding of software, firmware, digital signal processing (DSP), or embedded systems requirements.
  • Experience supporting customer-funded development programs and research initiatives.
  • Experience presenting technical solutions to customers, leadership teams, and stakeholders

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
