The posting
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Civil 3D Designer with a strong track record of delivering U.S.-based civil engineering projects. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience using Autodesk Civil 3D in the design and drafting of civil infrastructure such as land development, grading, utility layouts, and Roadway Design.
This position requires a self-driven professional who can independently manage detailed design tasks, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and uphold high drafting standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed civil engineering plans and documentation using Civil 3D in accordance with U.S. standards and client requirements
- Develop and manage Civil 3D models, including surfaces, alignments, profiles, corridors, grading plans, and utility networks (storm, sanitary, and water).
- Convert engineering inputs into accurate, constructible design deliverables
- Produce plan/profile sheets, cross-sections, and quantity takeoffs using Civil 3D
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and CAD teams to deliver projects on time and to quality standards
- Conduct QA/QC reviews of drawings and support the development of junior team members.
- Maintain drawing standards, workflows, and documentation in line with U.S. codes and best practices (AASHTO, DOT, etc.)
- Mentor and train team members to strengthen technical capabilities
Key Requirements
- 5+ years of experience using Autodesk Civil 3D on U.S.-based civil engineering projects
- Advanced proficiency in Civil 3D and AutoCAD
- Strong expertise in: Site grading and earthwork modeling, Roadway and corridor design, Stormwater and utility layouts and Sheet set preparation and annotation workflows.
- Solid understanding of U.S. civil engineering standards, regulations, and design practices.
What's great in the job?
- Fully remote. Work from Sri Lanka, no relocation or commute.
- Real US project exposure. You work on U.S. land development projects to AASHTO and DOT standards, which is a strong career boost.
- Full design scope, not just drafting. Grading, corridors, storm, sanitary and water networks, roadway, plan and profile sheets, and quantity takeoffs.
- Room to grow. The role includes QA/QC, mentoring juniors, and shaping CAD standards and workflows, which is a path toward a lead position.
- Work directly with engineers and project managers. You're part of the design team, not working in isolation.
