The posting

At Air Products, we reimagine what’s possible. By tapping into the motivation of our people and our collective experience, we create the ideas and innovations that drive us forward. When we come together – where every voice is heard and everyone knows they belong and matter – we create solutions that launch people into space, support lifesaving care in hospitals, and enable the construction of groundbreaking, world scale production facilities.

Reimagine What’s Possible

Do you have a passion for leading high-performing manufacturing teams, driving operational excellence, and delivering world-class quality in a fast-paced production environment? Air Products is seeking an Assembly Production Manager to lead our membrane module assembly operations at our St. Louis manufacturing facility. In this critical leadership role, you will oversee the safe, efficient, and quality-compliant assembly and testing of products that serve aerospace, defense, industrial gas, marine, petrochemical, and specialty market applications. As the final step before products reach our customers, this role plays a vital part in ensuring exceptional quality, reliability, and on-time delivery while supporting continued business growth.

Required Skills:

  • Lead and promote a strong safety culture across all assembly operations, ensuring compliance with Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) standards, Basic Safety Process (BSP) requirements, and corporate safety initiatives.
  • Direct multi-shift production activities across multiple assembly product lines, ensuring throughput, schedule adherence, and on-time delivery commitments are consistently achieved.
  • Drive quality excellence by maintaining rigorous assembly, testing, and documentation standards while ensuring compliance with AS9100 and customer-specific requirements.
  • Lead root cause investigations, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives to eliminate defects and prevent quality escapes.
  • Manage, develop, and mentor a workforce of approximately 90 employees, including supervisors and team leads, fostering a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous learning.
  • Partner with Engineering, Quality, Commercial, Planning, and Product Development teams to support customer requirements, new product introductions, and operational improvements.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve productivity, reduce waste, optimize labor utilization, and increase manufacturing efficiency using Lean principles and data-driven decision making.
  • Support capacity expansion and growth initiatives through effective workforce planning, onboarding, training, and certification programs.
  • Oversee assembly tooling, test equipment, and production assets through leadership of the Equipment Reliability function, ensuring reliability and uptime targets are met.
  • Participate in capital planning efforts by identifying production bottlenecks, developing business cases, and supporting the execution of approved improvement projects.
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators including labor efficiency, scrap, utilization, cycle time, schedule adherence, quality performance, and cost management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or related discipline) or equivalent manufacturing leadership experience.
  • Minimum 7 years of progressive manufacturing, production, or assembly leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated success leading large, multi-shift teams in a manufacturing or assembly environment.
  • Strong understanding of quality management systems, preferably AS9100 or similar regulated manufacturing standards.
  • Experience supporting multiple product lines with varying customer requirements and production processes.
  • Proven track record in Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, Root Cause Analysis, and operational excellence initiatives.
  • Strong KPI-driven leadership skills with experience utilizing standard work and visual management systems.
  • Exceptional communication, coaching, and team development capabilities.
  • Experience partnering with Engineering, Commercial, Quality, and Product Development teams.
  • SAP and Workday experience preferred.
  • Safety-first mindset with a demonstrated commitment to employee well-being.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
