The posting

Please note this is a shift based role

We’re looking for a Short Term Planner to join our Fleet Engineering team and play a key role in keeping the Voyager fleet airworthy, available and ready to meet operational requirements.

You’ll take ownership of short-term aircraft maintenance planning, looking three months ahead to coordinate maintenance activity up to and including 6-month checks. Working across CAMO, Line Maintenance, Base Maintenance, Materials and Operations, you’ll balance maintenance requirements with aircraft availability and operational priorities.

Why AirTanker?

AirTanker is a vital part of the UK’s defence capability, delivering air-to-air refuelling and air transport services to the RAF and MOD. We operate at the intersection of military precision and commercial innovation. As a Short Term Planner, you will be at the centre of keeping our aircraft airworthy, available and ready for operation. From managing the three-month rolling maintenance plan to coordinating maintenance teams, materials and aircraft availability, you will bring together multiple priorities to keep maintenance activity on track. Your decisions will have a direct impact on aircraft downtime, operational delivery and fleet availability.

What's in it for you?

  • Planning Ownership: Take responsibility for the three-month rolling maintenance plan and influence how maintenance activity is prioritised across the fleet.
  • Variety & Challenge: Balance changing operational requirements, maintenance priorities and resources in a fast-paced aviation environment.
  • Cross-Functional Exposure: Work closely with teams across Engineering, Operations and Materials, as well as external MROs.
  • Comprehensive Benefits: Including private medical insurance, bonus scheme, EV scheme, contributory pension, and more.
  • Adventure & Belonging: Battlefield tours, adventure training, and family fun days.

What you'll be doing

  • Develop and maintain the three-month rolling aircraft maintenance plan.
  • Plan and prioritise short-term maintenance activity, identifying risks and putting contingency plans in place.
  • Optimise maintenance inputs to support aircraft availability and reduce turnaround times.
  • Coordinate resources, including hangar space, manpower and materials.
  • Create work orders for Line Maintenance activity, including deployment preparations, recoveries and 6-month checks.
  • Work closely with CAMO, Base Maintenance, Line Maintenance, Materials and Operations to coordinate maintenance activity.
  • Coordinate with MROs to schedule maintenance and support timely completion.
  • Work alongside the Mid/Long Term Planner and Fleet Liaison Manager to support wider fleet planning.
  • Support the effective management of flight hours and flight cycles across the fleet.
  • Deputise for the Planning Manager when required.

What you'll bring

  • At least two years’ experience in aircraft maintenance planning, ideally within a CAMO environment.
  • Experience of maintenance planning on wide-body aircraft.
  • Knowledge of UK Civil and Military Aviation Authority regulations and EASA regulations.
  • Experience using MRO IT systems such as Envision, AMOS or Trax.
  • Knowledge of the Airbus A330 Maintenance Planning Document.
  • Strong prioritisation skills and the ability to work independently under operational pressure.
  • A calm and professional approach when responding to changing operational requirements.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience writing procedures and processes.
  • Project management experience. A recognised qualification or course would be advantageous.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.

What if my background isn't good enough?

We make the most of the background you have. The CV uses every piece of relevant proof your profile holds, and one of the 25 readers reads your whole profile and flags what the CV left out.

Do you really apply for me?

Yes, on the employer's own form, the hardest ones included. Where a question needs you, you answer it right there and AI suggests the best answer. Don't want us applying from our IP addresses? Use our Chrome extension: we apply straight from your own browser.

Is it a subscription?
