The posting

Working Conditions:

Primarily in an office environment indoors with frequent sitting for extended periods of time with occasional walking in and around a non-climate-controlled metal manufacturing plant. May be required to travel (frequently) by automobile and/or common air carrier, with overnight stays (travel ~ 15-20%). Occasional lifting, pushing, or pulling of 10 pounds, stooping, reaching, and bending in performance of financial and administrative responsibilities.

Reporting to the Vice President, Division Finance, the Sr. Director, Division Finance provides financial leadership across Alamo Group's multi-unit global operations. This role directs the consolidation, analysis, and forecasting of division financial performance, including the P&L, balance sheet, operating budgets, and key performance indicators, and maintains a robust system of internal controls to safeguard division and company assets. The Sr. Director serves as a strategic partner to division leadership, delivering insight that supports sound decision-making and profitable growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the standardization of financial reporting and analysis across operating entities, group entities, and Corporate in partnership with Group Controllers and the Vice President, Corporate Finance.
  • Collaborate with Group Controllers to execute company strategy and achieve financial targets.
  • Support the Vice President, Division Finance in providing strategic counsel and financial insight to Executive Vice Presidents to drive profitable growth.
  • Direct the preparation and consolidation of financial statements, business activity reports, forecasts, and annual budgets for Alamo Group's operating entities.
  • Support mergers and acquisitions at the division and corporate levels, including evaluation of potential acquisitions and divestitures, due diligence, and post-transaction integration.
  • Partner with Corporate Accounting to prepare materials supporting internal and external audits.
  • Establish and maintain internal control policies, guidelines, and procedures to ensure accurate, timely financial reporting in accordance with GAAP.
  • Lead or participate in finance digitalization initiatives, including ERP upgrades and process automation.

Qualifications

  • Advanced knowledge of accounting and economic principles, financial markets, banking, and financial analysis and reporting, including cost accounting, GAAP, and IFRS.
  • Strong command of strategic planning, resource allocation, and financial planning principles.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead change, diagnose complex problems, evaluate alternatives and their relative costs and benefits, and implement effective solutions.
  • Proven capacity to constructively challenge the status quo across multiple entities and at the enterprise level.
  • Exceptional collaboration skills, with the ability to build productive relationships with peers and senior leaders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely. Proficiency in developing and delivering executive-level PowerPoint presentations is preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, financial modeling, and standard business software.
  • Ability to work extended hours, including weekends and holidays, as financial reporting schedules require.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field is required; MBA and/or CPA is preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting experience is required, preferably within a publicly traded manufacturing organization.
  • Demonstrated success leading finance across multiple business units or divisions and aligning diverse teams around unified operational goals.
