What You Will Do
Alchemer’s accounting team is building an AI-first accounting function, and we’re looking for a Staff Accountant who wants to help lead that shift. You’ll own accounts payable and support month-end close. Just as important, you’ll use company-approved AI every day to rethink how the work gets done. This role is ideal for someone who is curious, loves to learn and wants to grow well beyond the job description. It reports to the Corporate Controller.
How You Will Spend Your Days
- Manage accounts payable end to end, including invoice processing, payment runs, vendor records and 1099s
- Work with budget owners to create purchase requests for budgeted spend, and track and report spending against approvals and budget
- Review expense reports and credit card transactions, making sure spend is properly coded and supported
- Assist with month-end close, including account reconciliations and journal entries
- Use company-approved AI tools to work faster and more accurately across AP, reconciliations, journal entries, and close documentation, applying sound professional judgment
- Experiment with company-approved AI tools, refine what works, and share what you learn to help build AI fluency across the team
- Identify manual processes and redesign them using company-approved AI and automation
- Assist with the annual audit and tax returns, and integrating acquired companies
- Support the FP&A and accounting teams with ad-hoc analyse
What You Bring to this Role•
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 0 to 2 years of relevant work experience preferred (will consider qualified recent graduates)
- Working knowledge of accounting fundamentals, including GAAP and reconciliations
- Strong work ethic and willingness to help wherever needed
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on accuracy
- Eager to learn, with a track record of taking initiative
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, organize and use time efficiently
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Excel; experience with an ERP such as NetSuite is a plus
- Comfortable with technology and quick to learn new tools; hands-on experience with AI tools like Claude is a plus, and a genuine eagerness to master them is a must
Compensation for this position includes an hourly rate of $28.84 to $31.25, with eligibility to participate in our Employee Participation Unit program.
