The Activities Coordinator for our Skilled Nursing Facility is responsible for the overall planning and implementation of a varied activity program designed to engage and meet the needs of the residents. This role will foster a positive, supportive environment for residents, families, and team members on a full-time basis. Come work in our beautiful CMS 5-Star Rated Facility!

PRINCIPAL DUTIES:

  1. Coordinates and provides recreational and educational activities for the residents in Skilled Nursing.
  2. Assists with producing monthly calendars and other promotional material.
  3. Produces and reviews individual resident assessments.
  4. Suggests programs and recreational activities to relatives for use upon discharge of residents; refers relatives to recreation resources and services available in the community.
  5. Coordinates Resident Council and family meetings and arranges special meetings for residents and families.
  6. Directs the movement of residents to and from recreational areas.
  7. Prepares and maintains pertinent reports, studies and schedules in accordance with state and federal regulations.
  8. Purchases supplies and equipment. Inspects recreational equipment to determine repair and maintenance needs and cleanliness.
  9. Communicates the goals and objectives of the recreational program to staff, volunteers, relatives and the public.
  10. Assists with directing volunteer activities and provides training of volunteers.
  11. Maintains accurate documentation of residents’ progress and responses to program.

Here are a few of the qualifications we need you to have:

  • NCCAP certification preferred
  • Must be comfortable working a rotating holiday schedule
  • Must hold a valid CPR, BLS, and First Aid Certification and be trained in AED procedures
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English with residents, and have adequate reading skills to understand resident care plans and other applicable documentation
  • Education or experience with recreational activities, event planning or related preferred.
  • Physical fitness, ability to walk, dance, stand, lift, or meet other physical demands.
  • Patience and compassion when dealing with others, especially those who are sick, injured, elderly, or from different backgrounds.
