ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

School Culture and Climate

  • Lead and sustain school culture initiatives aligned with network priorities to support scholar engagement, strong teacher-scholar relationships, and scholar safety.
  • Lead high-fidelity implementation of effective and consistent implementation of Schoolwide Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) through a trauma-informed approach while always modeling the school’s values and high expectations.
  • Actively engage in and facilitate conversations about race with colleagues that aim to build a more equitable, inclusive, and culturally relevant school culture.
  • Promote general scholar health, safety, and welfare by overseeing inclusive scholar activities (e.g., career exploration, field trips, service learning, dances, rallies, etc.)

Scholar Behavior, Discipline, and Safety

  • Oversee scholar discipline record keeping and documentation, including conducting scholar behavior incident investigations and writing reports.
  • Lead targeted and intensive behavior systems through use of research-based interventions and alternatives to suspension.
  • Manage suspension, alternative-to-suspension, and behavior referral processes using a restorative approach, non-exclusionary practices, and strong documentation procedures.
  • Assist in the planning, implementation, and progress monitoring of effective individual scholar behavior support plans in collaboration with scholars, parents/guardians, Teachers, Counselors, School Leaders, and other support service providers, including re-entry meetings and/or IEP/504 plan meetings for students with multiple behavior infractions.
  • Ensure the overall safety and well-being of all scholars through ongoing monitoring and adjustment of school site systems, practices, routines, and procedures.
  • Develop, coordinate, and monitor active supervision and transition systems throughout the school.

Family Engagement and Relationships

  • Model for and coach staff in building and maintaining strong relationships with scholars and families.
  • Plan and lead parent/guardian conferences for targeted and intensive behavior and/or attendance-related issues as needed.

Scholar Attendance

  • Actively participate on the school's attendance team.
  • Support with the management and implementation of school strategy to reduce chronic absenteeism and increase scholar attendance with a trauma-informed lens and special attention to scholar subgroups (i.e. multilingual learners, socioeconomically disadvantaged, foster youth, homeless, scholars with disabilities, racial/ethnic groups).
  • As part of the school’s Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS), analyze attendance data alongside behavior and academic data to support scholar success through tiered intervention recommendations, implementation, and tracking.

Culture/Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Team and Data Leadership

  • Lead the Culture/SEL team to regularly capture, share, and analyze scholar culture data and trends (including SEL surveys, attendance, and discipline) to assess and inform scholar services and a Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS).
  • Regularly collect and analyze data on behavior referrals, suspensions, discipline, and school violence to ensure school safety and scholar success (including disproportionality and over-suspension of subgroups).
  • Lead all data analysis with a trauma-informed lens and special attention to scholar subgroups.

Staff Development and Support

  • Use school culture data to plan and facilitate summer and monthly professional development with teachers and staff.
  • Provide ongoing support (e.g., training, PD sessions, resources, modeling, coaching, feedback) for staff on building positive classroom environments, relationships with scholars, effective implementation of the schoolwide PBIS plan, and alternatives to exclusionary discipline practices (i.e., referral out-of-class).
  • Conduct regular classroom and common area culture observations to inform ongoing feedback, schoolwide systems, and staff professional development.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary classroom walkthroughs alongside school leadership to identify trends in classroom culture, behavior management, routines, and procedures, and recommend teacher action steps to improve practice.

  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
