Prime Video Live Sports delivers live events to tens of millions of customers worldwide -- NFL Thursday Night Football, NBA, NHL, NASCAR, MLB, UEFA Champions League, Roland Garros, Wimbledon, and more. The Technical Operations team is the engineering backbone of every broadcast: responsible for the planning, signal integrity, and on-the-ground execution of the infrastructure that makes each live event possible.

We are looking for a Broadcast Engineer who brings deep technical expertise and a willingness to do whatever the production requires -- from architecting signal flows and managing vendor deployments to pulling cable on a truck an hour before airtime. If you thrive in the controlled chaos of live sports production and take personal ownership of every broadcast you touch, we want to hear from you.

This is a remote-based role with regular travel to live events, on-location productions, and our Culver City, CA headquarters -- the home base for Prime Video Live Sports.

Key job responsibilities Project Management & Cross-Functional Coordination

• Manage technical project lifecycles from pre-production through post-event wrap: timelines, task assignment, milestone tracking, and on-time delivery.

• Coordinate across production operations, graphics, audio, comms, cloud engineering, and

Technical Integration Management

• Maintain project documentation and status reporting; drive process improvements and scalable solutions across productions. Infrastructure & Documentation

• Maintain and upgrade Prime Video broadcast infrastructure, field equipment, inventory records, and procurement tracking.

• Develop and maintain operational runbooks, SOPs, cable maps, signal flow diagrams, and system configuration documentation.

• File post-event technical reports, track recurring issues, and evaluate emerging broadcast technologies for workflow improvements.

Remote Deployment & Vendor Oversight

• Plan and execute remote deployments end-to-end: scope, technical solutions, logistics, and readiness confirmation.

• Oversee vendor and contractor performance against SLAs; liaise with third-party operators, host broadcasters, and equipment vendors on signal flow and handoff procedures.

• Track risks across concurrent deployments; manage vendor relationships, performance evaluations, and procurement decisions.

Event Readiness and Technical Execution

• Set up, operate, and troubleshoot live broadcast systems: video/audio routing, cameras, encoding, replay, intercom, IP transport, and transmission.

• Coordinate signal flows, conduct pre-show validations, and deploy contribution circuits (fiber, satellite, IP) with carriers and partners.

• Serve as on-site technical contact; monitor signal quality in real time, troubleshoot failures, and ensure compliance with broadcast standards.

A day in the life Every broadcast begins long before the red light. You arrive at the venue to confirm vendor gear integrates to plan, Prime Video systems are healthy, and contribution circuits are live.

Once rolling, you support the full signal chain, monitoring paths, checking in with truck technicians, logging drift and driving it to resolution before it becomes a problem. On-site tests for new initiatives run alongside live production, so you coordinate those while providing engineering support from power to specialty cameras, graphics, and comms.

Between events, you partner with technical operations, production, and vendor teams to move initiatives to their next milestones, flagging risks early and keeping standards high.

About the team The Prime Video Live Sports Technical Operations team supports live sports properties in the US and internationally. The team works closely with production operations, audio, comms, graphics, cloud engineering, and Technical Integration Management to raise the technical bar on our broadcasts and evolve our production model. We oversee vendor supplying various mobile production facilities, manage Prime Video-owned broadcast equipment across remote integrations, and coordinate with centralized production facilities and a Broadcast Operations Center to deliver events at scale. We are engineers who take pride in doing the work, not just overseeing it.

- 10+ years of experience in broadcast engineering in live production environments. - Experience with mobile production units (OB trucks) or remote/at-home production workflows. - Experience operating broadcast equipment and integrating remote feeds into host broadcast or third-party signal chains. - Experience managing vendor and contractor performance in live broadcast environments. - Experience with audio/video signal flow and routing, including SDI, SMPTE ST 2110 IP video, and broadcast infrastructure (routers, multiviewers, frame synchronizers, and production switchers). - Experience with IP contribution protocols (SRT, RIST, or RTMP) and transmission coordination (fiber or satellite). - Experience with streaming technology, OTT delivery, and live streaming workflows. - Experience troubleshooting technical problems in live broadcast environments.

- Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or Media Technology. - Project management training or certification (PMP, CAPM, or equivalent), and experience with project tracking tools (Asana, Jira, or similar). - SBE Certified Broadcast Engineer (CBE) or higher, or SMPTE IP media training. - Ability to travel to live events and Prime Video Live Sports offices in Culver City, CA, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and on short notice. - Experience working with technical and business stakeholders across global cross-functional teams. - Experience communicating with technical and non-technical audiences, including executive-level stakeholders or clients. - Experience with automation or scripting languages such as Python, Java, Perl, PHP, Ruby, Bash, or Shell. - Experience leading technical teams through daily operations and maintenance, or experience reading and writing procedures, technical documents, and engineering drawings. - Experience in a Broadcast Operations Center (BOC), Master Control, or live events facility. - Experience with HDR production workflows, including HLG or PQ (BT.2100), BT.2020 color space, and HDR signal monitoring and conversion. - Experience with EVS replay systems, live audio consoles (Calrec, SSL, or Yamaha), intercom systems (Riedel or RTS), and graphics integration (SMT, Vizrt, or similar). - Experience with monitoring and alerting tools for video, audio, and network systems. - Experience with AWS media services and cloud-based production workflows

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
