The posting

Amazon's Innovation Lab team drives Low Cost Automation (LCA) across the MEATR (Middle East, Africa and Turkey) region and beyond. Our portfolio spans low-cost automation projects, internal lab testing for Operations, Safety, Ergonomics, ACES, and Material Handling Equipment (MHE), as well as package quality testing.

As a Lab Assistant, you will own the day-to-day administrative operations of the Innovation Lab, ensuring smooth execution of testing programs, project logistics, and vendor coordination. This is an individual contributor role in ACES team, based at AUH1 Fulfillment Center in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Core responsibilities include: - Conducting internal lab tests across Operations, Safety, Ergonomics, ACES, MHE, and package quality domains - Managing the lab's administrative functions, including maintaining documentation, tracking assets, and organizing the lab workspace - Providing logistical support for automation and innovation projects - Raising, tracking, and managing purchase orders through internal procurement systems - Managing the lab ticket queue and ensuring timely resolution of requests - Tracking and communicating project status updates to stakeholders using Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook - Coordinating with internal teams and external vendors to support project deliverables

Key job responsibilities

- Administer multiple concurrent projects, ensuring milestones and timelines are met - Perform physical testing and evaluation of new equipment, tools, and materials - Identify, engage, and manage new vendors to build MENA's own vendor base for automation equipment - Serve as the lab coordinator for all internal and external visits, ensuring a professional and safe lab environment - Maintain accurate records, reports, and dashboards using Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Word, and Excel) - Escalate issues proactively and communicate status to the Operations Integration team

A day in the life You will start your day by reviewing the lab ticket queue and prioritizing tasks. You may conduct physical tests on new equipment in the morning, document results in Excel, and update the project tracker. After lunch, you might coordinate with a new vendor, raise a purchase order, and prepare materials for an upcoming lab visit. Throughout the day, you will communicate updates via Outlook and ensure the lab space is organized and safe. You will collaborate closely with technicians, project team members, and external partners — managing competing priorities, solving problems on the fly, and meeting tight timelines. Flexibility to be on call for emergencies and work shifts as required is essential.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
