AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we’re the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain — and we’re looking for talented people who want to help.
You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. And you’ll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.
Logistics Specialists play a vital role in the success of Amazon Web Services by providing the right part, in the right place at the right time. Your contribution to this success would be maintaining the onsite parts room in AWS Data Centers, by managing the custody of computer hardware through their entire lifecycle. This involves receiving parts, safely storing parts, picking and delivering parts to hardware technicians, cycle counts, and shipping faulty hardware back to the vendor.
You will work closely with Data Centre Operations and Engineering teams to ensure reliable functioning and repair activities to support our customers, while adhering to our operational tenants of safety, security and availability.

Create or update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), checklists, and visual management aids to ensure all team members follow the same processes. - Metrics and visibility: Develop or enhance metrics, dashboards, and reporting mechanisms that give the team and leadership better visibility into logistics performance, enabling data-driven decision-making and faster identification of emerging issues. - Continuous improvement culture: Proactively bring forward improvement ideas and contribute to a culture where the team is always looking for a better way to operate.

A day in the life Your day will be spent carrying out logistical support functions across our Data Centers, ensuring that our operations teams have the parts and materials they need to keep infrastructure running. You will manage the end-to-end lifecycle of spare parts, from receiving and ingesting inbound shipments at the loading dock, to stowing parts in designated bin locations, processing break/fix and project part requests, and coordinating outbound shipments including site-to-site transfers and reverse logistics. You will process failed parts through inventory bins, and handle Failure Analysis requests requiring parts to be shipped centrally for testing. Inventory accuracy is a core part of the role. You will conduct regular cycle counts to maintain alignment between physical stock and system records, targeting 100% bin count completion each semester. You will review metric dashboards daily to proactively identify bins approaching SLA and take action before breaches occur.
