The posting

The Amazon Music Design Systems team builds the foundation every Amazon Music experience is made from: the Figma libraries, design tokens, icons, and components that product designers and engineers use across iOS, Android, and web. As we continue to grow, we are looking for a talented and passionate Product Designer to help build and evolve that foundation. Our ideal candidate cares about craft and consistency, enjoys making tools that other designers depend on, and wants to see their work show up in every surface of the Amazon Music app.

Key job responsibilities - Design, build, and maintain components in our Figma libraries, including variants, component properties, auto layout, and variables, structured so they translate cleanly into code. - Keep the libraries healthy: publish updates, manage versioning and deprecation, and keep files organized and consistent. - Produce component specifications and development-ready handoff, partnering with engineers through implementation and review. - Design and expand our icon set on a consistent grid and keyline system, and produce logos, app icons, and illustrations that fit the visual language. - Help define and document an illustration style and usage guidance. - Write documentation and usage guidance that helps product designers and engineers use the system correctly. - Partner with product designers to apply the system to real features, audit designs for system use, and identify gaps the system should fill. - Review contribution requests from other designers and help decide what belongs in the system. - Prototype with the system to test new components and patterns before they ship. - Collaborate with other designers in designing and documenting our patterns, and maintaining our pattern library. - Collaborate on and present work to a range of stakeholders – designers, engineers, product managers, and design leadership.

A day in the life As a Product Designer on this team, you'll spend your time on the parts of design that everyone else builds on. One day you might draw a set of new icons and refine them until they sit naturally alongside hundreds of existing ones. Another, you might add a variant to a component, update its specification, and pair with an engineer to get it ready for development. You'll review a feature designer's file to see where the system helps them and where it gets in their way, and turn what you learn into improvements. You'll work with front-end engineers who build our libraries into code across multiple platforms, so the decisions you make in Figma reach customers. To be successful you must be detail-oriented, systems-minded, and collaborative, with strong craft in both components and iconography and an ability to communicate your ideas clearly. Being a big music fan is a plus.

The Design Systems team owns Amazon Music's design systems: the Figma libraries, design tokens, icons, and component libraries used to build Amazon Music across iOS, Android, and web, along with the documentation and tooling that support them. We're a small team of designers, and front-end engineers working across Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Mexico City. Join us for the opportunity to shape how Amazon Music looks and feels on a global scale.

- 2+ years of design experience - Experience designing and prototyping with tools such as Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud, or similar - Experience working in a collaborative team environment to deliver high-quality design solutions - Have an available online portfolio that includes design systems work, such as a component with its states and variants, or an icon set and how it was constructed - Experience building components in Figma using variants, component properties, auto layout, and variables

- Experience contributing to or maintaining a published Figma library used by other designers - Experience with design tokens and variable modes, such as light, dark, and brand themes - Experience designing icon sets at scale, including grids, keylines, optical sizing, and consistency across a large set - Experience designing for iOS, Android, and web within a single system - Knowledge of accessibility fundamentals, including color contrast, touch target sizing, and focus states - Experience working directly with developers on implementation, including Figma Dev Mode, Code Connect, or design-to-code handoff - Experience writing clear component documentation and usage guidance - Curiosity about AI-assisted design and prototyping workflows

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
