The posting

Amazon develops innovative consumer-centric product solutions. As a reliability engineer you will be part of an exciting team developing, testing, and delivering products. Your primary responsibility will be the development and implementation of methodologies/techniques to enhance product reliability. You will work closely internal cross-functional teams and outside partners to drive and execute product qualification. You must be responsive, flexible and able to succeed within an open collaborative peer environment.

The reliability engineer will be responsible for:

- Create reliability test plans including resource allocations, validation schedule assumptions, and validation items scope. - Manage the local supplier team on reliability resource planning, test execution, failure analysis, and track the issues from creation to closure. - Implement specific validation items in reliability test plans with schedule. Flexible adjustment should be made based on issue occurring and debugging. - Lead and drive on DFMEA, debugging, failure analysis, DOEs and fixing issues discovered during testing. - Evaluate and develop reliability test methodologies to reduce test time and increase test coverage. - Evaluate reliability risks, perform risk assessment and do escalations to management team. - Travel extensively in Vietnam and Asia to support reliability activities. - Travel to US for team collaboration or training.

Key job responsibilities - As a Reliability Engineer (RE) for critical components, the primary responsibility will be the development and implementation of methodologies/techniques to enhance product reliability and manage reliability activities. - The RE will lead reliability engineering and operations activities throughout the program's execution phase, accountable for managing new component programs from PR/FAQ through to sustaining, across the company's development. - The RE will work closely with internal cross-functional teams and outside partners to drive and execute product qualification and failure analysis. - The RE will drive the configuration management deliverables to ensure the timely release of all device components and assemblies to production. - The RE will also assist Rel Test Engineer in enhancing suppliers' local infrastructure and capability, including lab construction, testing and FA capability, and assist with cross functional team activities to ensure the right level of engagement from reliability. - The RE needs to have strong logical capabilities to summarize failures, solid statistical knowledge to perform risk assessments, and good judgment to provide team recommendations during failure escalations. - The RE needs to be capable of technical dive deep in the engineering scopes such as display, optic, camera, PD, EE, SoC, etc.

- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, material engineering, mechanical engineering or related fields - 5+ years of engineering experience - Experience using analytical thinking and problem-solving skills to identify root causes of technical problems - Experience using English communication skills, both written and verbal, to foster seamless interaction with stakeholders at all levels - Experience prioritizing and managing multiple responsibilities - Good understanding of the principles and basic structures of measuring instruments such as HALT, chambers, oscilloscopes, multimeters etc.

- Master's degree or above in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Reliability Engineering, or 7+ years of directly managing and responsible for multiple large projects experience - Experience with risk adjustment coding, or experience working with data analytics and using these metrics to identify problems - Experience in consumer electronics or technology sector - Experience with full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations, or experience with general troubleshooting/debugging of hardware - Experience in high-volume manufacturing environments - Master's degree or above in Operations Research, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science or related field, or experience effectively communicating complex concepts through written and verbal communication
