The posting

Build the transportation networks that keep Amazon's Japan business moving. As a Supply Chain Manager II, you will design long-term network plans for return flows and reusable assets, shaping both everyday operations and Peak readiness. You will turn data into scalable operating models, reduce unnecessary movements, and connect planning with procurement and operations. This role offers visible ownership of a new planning area and the chance to improve customer experience, sustainability, and cost efficiency at national scale.

Key job responsibilities Own the annual and multi-year transportation network strategy for return flows and reusable assets across Japan. • Use data to identify network complexity, capacity constraints, cost drivers, and utilization opportunities. • Design scalable hub-and-spoke network models that reduce unnecessary lanes and transportation movements. • Develop separate Business as Usual and Peak network plans, including capacity assumptions, operating rules, and risk mitigation. • Build planning mechanisms and performance metrics that link long-term design with daily execution. • Partner with transportation procurement, operations, technology, and fulfillment teams to translate plans into action. • Lead pilots, measure results, resolve trade-offs, and scale successful network changes. • Communicate recommendations, risks, and results clearly to senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders.

A day in the life On a typical day, you will analyze transportation flows, test network scenarios, and turn findings into clear decisions. You will work with procurement and operations partners to review capacity, operating constraints, and execution results. You will also lead working sessions, remove blockers, and update the network plan as business conditions change.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
