Are you ready to manage a large-scale electrical preventive maintenance program that keeps 1,300+ facilities running safely and reliably? The Global Energy Sustainability and Automation Electrical Engineering team is looking for a Technical Infrastructure Program Manager to own the full execution lifecycle of planned electrical outages across North America. In this role, you will coordinate multi-tier vendor partnerships, develop site-specific scopes of work for medium and low voltage distribution systems, and drive year-over-year cost optimization. You will work at the intersection of electrical engineering, program management, and operational planning, translating complex technical requirements into actionable schedules and clear stakeholder communications.
Key job responsibilities - Manage the full execution lifecycle of planned electrical preventive maintenance outages from site selection and scope development through vendor coordination, outage scheduling, and post-outage closeout — across 200+ facilities annually. - Coordinate across a three-tier vendor model (Project Management Vendor, Owner's Representative, and High Voltage Specialty Vendor) to deliver on-time, on-budget electrical testing and maintenance that meets NETA and Amazon standards. - Develop and manage site-specific scopes of work for medium- and low-voltage electrical distribution systems, including switchgear, transformers, automatic transfer switches, panelboards, and associated power distribution equipment. - Oversee utility coordination, permitting, and lockout/tagout planning for planned facility de-energization events, and partner with operations, field reliability and maintenance engineering, and site leadership to align outage windows with operational constraints. - Manage program budgets, purchase orders, change orders, and vendor invoicing; perform cost analysis and support competitive bidding processes to drive continuous cost optimization.
A day in the life Your morning might start with a status call alongside your vendor partners to confirm readiness for an upcoming outage at a fulfillment center, reviewing scope documents and safety plans. By midday you are analyzing deficiency reports from a recently completed outage, identifying trends, and coordinating remediation timelines with the responsible vendors. In the afternoon you join a planning session with operations and site leadership to lock in the next quarter's outage calendar, balancing maintenance needs against throughput targets. Throughout, you communicate progress and risks to cross-functional stakeholders, keeping everyone aligned.
About the team The Global Energy Sustainability and Automation Electrical Engineering team is dedicated to maintaining safe, reliable, and cost-effective electrical infrastructure across Amazon's North American facility network. We partner closely with operations, field reliability and maintenance engineering, central planning, and external vendors to ensure our power distribution systems perform at the highest level. Our focus in the coming years is scaling our preventive maintenance programs, improving deficiency identification and remediation processes, and driving measurable cost avoidance. - Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, or experience working in electrical engineering field - Experience working in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment - Knowledge of NETA testing standards (ANSI/NETA MTS, ATS, and EAM) and acceptance/maintenance testing protocols for electrical equipment - Familiarity with power systems studies (arc flash, short circuit, coordination, load flow)
- 5+ years of conducting predictive and preventative maintenance procedures experience - Experience with outage planning and coordination, including vendor management and de-energization scheduling - Knowledge of infrared thermography, power quality analysis, or transformer oil analysis techniques

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
