Position Summary

Ambient Enterprises National Service team is seeking a highly analytical and business-oriented FP&A Analyst to support the financial planning, forecasting, reporting, and performance management functions of its Nationwide Service organization. This role will provide financial insights that drive operational decision-making, improve profitability, and support the achievement of company-wide financial objectives.

The FP&A Analyst will partner closely with the Controller – National Service, Regional Accounting Managers, operational leadership, and other stakeholders to develop budgets and forecasts, analyze financial results, monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), and identify opportunities to improve revenue, gross margin, EBITDA, and overall business performance.

This position will play a critical role in establishing consistent financial reporting and planning processes across a geographically dispersed, multi-division service organization. The ideal candidate combines strong financial modeling and analytical capabilities with the ability to translate complex financial information into actionable business recommendations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the annual budgeting process across the Nationwide Service organization, working with regional accounting and operational leaders to develop accurate and achievable financial plans.
  • Prepare monthly forecasts, quarterly projections, and full-year financial outlooks for revenue, gross profit, operating expenses, and EBITDA.
  • Analyze actual results against budget, forecast, and prior periods, identifying key variances, underlying drivers, risks, and opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain financial models to support business planning, resource allocation, growth initiatives, and management decision-making.
  • Consolidate financial plans across divisions and regions to provide a comprehensive view of Nationwide Service performance.
  • Support scenario analysis and sensitivity modeling to evaluate the financial impact of changes in revenue, labor costs, pricing, staffing, and operating expenses.
  • Prepare monthly financial reporting packages, including income statements, budget-to-actual comparisons, variance analyses, and management summaries.
  • Develop and maintain standardized reporting across divisions, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and transparency in financial performance measurement.
  • Analyze revenue, gross profit, labor costs, overhead, and EBITDA trends to identify performance drivers and improvement opportunities.
  • Provide clear explanations of financial results and translate data into actionable insights for finance and operational leadership.
  • Support monthly financial reviews with regional leaders and senior management.
  • Monitor financial performance against established targets and communicate emerging risks or unfavorable trends in a timely manner.
  • Develop and maintain KPIs relevant to a nationwide HVAC service business.
  • Partner with operations to evaluate technician capacity, staffing levels, productivity, pricing, and service delivery economics.
  • Identify operational inefficiencies and quantify the financial impact of potential process improvements.
  • Analyze performance across locations, business units, and service offerings to identify best practices and opportunities for improvement.
  • Support the development of financial metrics that connect operational activity to financial results.
  • Create executive-level dashboards, presentations, and financial summaries for the Controller and senior leadership.
  • Develop reporting tools that provide timely visibility into business performance, financial trends, and progress against strategic objectives.
  • Support business cases for capital expenditures, hiring decisions, operational investments, and other strategic initiatives.
  • Perform ad hoc financial analyses to support leadership requests, business reviews, and key management decisions.
  • Assist with the evaluation of acquisitions, integration initiatives, and financial performance improvement opportunities as needed.
  • Partner with accounting and operational teams to ensure financial and operational data is complete, accurate, and consistently defined.
  • Support the development of automated reporting and standardized financial models across the Nationwide Service organization.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and financial analysis processes.
  • Collaborate with the accounting team to align financial reporting with the general ledger and ensure consistent financial definitions across divisions.
  • Support the use of Business Central and other relevant business systems to improve data accessibility and reporting efficiency.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
