THE ROLE:

AMD is seeking a highly strategic and execution-driven Senior Director, U.S. Public Sector Sales to lead AMD’s Public Sector business and accelerate growth across Federal and SLED (State, Local, and Education) markets, including Federal Civilian, Defense, Intelligence, public sector institutions, and related ecosystem partners.

This leader will be responsible for defining and executing AMD’s overall U.S. Public Sector sales strategy, driving revenue growth, expanding market share, and strengthening AMD’s position across Data Center, AI infrastructure, Commercial Client, Graphics, and Embedded solutions. You will lead a high-performing team of sales professionals and field resources while partnering closely with OEMs, systems integrators, channel partners, and internal AMD teams to deliver mission-critical technology solutions to Public Sector customers.

This is a highly visible leadership role operating at the intersection of strategic account management, executive engagement, ecosystem partnerships, and technology transformation. Success in this role requires a strong understanding of Federal and SLED buying environments, mission priorities, procurement models, modernization initiatives, and emerging technology trends including AI, cloud, secure compute, advanced analytics, and high-performance infrastructure.

The ideal candidate will combine deep Public Sector market expertise, strong leadership capability, operational rigor, and the ability to translate complex customer needs into scalable AMD-driven solutions that create long-term business growth.

You are a strategic, customer-focused sales leader with deep Public Sector market expertise and a proven track record of building high-performing teams, executive relationships, and long-term growth strategies.

You bring:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Public Sector Sales Strategy & Growth

  • Define and execute AMD’s U.S. Public Sector sales strategy across Federal and SLED segments to drive revenue growth, market share expansion, and long-term strategic positioning
  • Develop multi-year growth plans aligned to Public Sector modernization priorities, AI adoption, secure computing, digital transformation, and cloud initiatives
  • Identify whitespace opportunities across agencies, institutions, and ecosystem partners to expand AMD’s footprint and accelerate growth

Team Leadership & Talent Development

  • Build, lead, and develop a diverse, high-performing Public Sector sales organization
  • Coach and mentor sales leaders and field teams to improve execution, pipeline quality, and business outcomes
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, urgency, innovation, and customer focus

Executive Engagement & Customer Relationships

  • Build trusted executive relationships across Federal agencies, state and local institutions, education organizations, OEMs, systems integrators, and strategic partners
  • Engage with senior government leaders, procurement teams, program offices, CIOs, CTOs, and technical decision-makers to understand priorities and technology needs
  • Position AMD as a trusted advisor and strategic technology partner

Ecosystem & Partner Leadership

  • Develop and execute strategic alliance initiatives with OEMs, cloud providers, systems integrators, channel partners, and key ecosystem players
  • Drive joint go-to-market strategies that accelerate Public Sector adoption of AMD-powered solutions
  • Ensure strong alignment across AMD’s broader Public Sector ecosystem

AI, Data Center & Technology Leadership

  • Drive adoption of AMD EPYC™, Ryzen™ Pro, Radeon™ Pro, AMD Instinct™, and Embedded solutions across mission-critical workloads
  • Support Public Sector AI initiatives including training, inference, analytics, edge AI, research compute, sovereign AI, and secure infrastructure deployments
  • Champion AMD’s differentiated value proposition in performance, security, scalability, power efficiency, and total cost of ownership

Operational Excellence & Business Management

  • Maintain strong forecasting, pipeline management, and sales execution rigor using Salesforce and analytics tools
  • Monitor business performance, risks, and market dynamics, providing clear executive-level reporting and recommendations
  • Leverage AI-enabled tools, analytics, and automation to improve forecasting, sales productivity, customer engagement, and operational efficiency

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

Leadership Experience

  • Proven success in comparable Public Sector sales leadership roles, including leading distributed teams across complex geographic territories
  • Demonstrated ability to build, scale, and lead high-performing sales organizations

Public Sector Expertise

  • Deep experience selling into U.S. Federal Civilian, Defense, Intelligence, and/or SLED markets
  • Strong understanding of Public Sector procurement, funding cycles, contract vehicles, and acquisition strategies

Technical & Industry Expertise

  • Strong background in Data Center, AI infrastructure, CPUs, GPUs, Embedded, and enterprise computing
  • Experience selling advanced infrastructure solutions supporting cloud, AI, analytics, HPC, and mission-critical workloads

Partner & Ecosystem Experience

  • Proven success building strategic partnerships with OEMs, CSPs, systems integrators, and channel partners
  • Experience driving complex partner-led sales motions within Public Sector markets

Strategic & Operational Excellence

  • Strong experience developing and executing strategic sales plans that drive revenue and market share growth
  • Experience leveraging AI-enabled tools, analytics, and automation to improve business planning, forecasting, and operational execution

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or related field required MBA or advanced degree preferred
