THE ROLE
We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager, Event Technology Operations to build and lead the Event Technology Operations discipline across AMD’s global event portfolio. This role will own the operational strategy, capabilities, standards, service model, and delivery of event technology, ensuring technology enables scalable, reliable, and engaging event experiences.
This role will serve as the strategic and operational bridge between Global Event Marketing and AMD’s MarTech organization, translating event, audience, and business requirements into technology capabilities and operating models. The successful candidate will partner closely with the Event Technology Product Manager within MarTech, who owns the technical platforms and product roadmap, while leading the Event Technology Operations function responsible for implementation, readiness, adoption, and delivery across the portfolio.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Event Technology Operations Strategy: Define and own the Event Technology Operations strategy, operating model, standards, and service approach across AMD’s global event portfolio.
- Capability Strategy & Evolution: Establish the capabilities, processes, services, resource models, and vendor ecosystem required to support the evolving portfolio and identify opportunities to improve and scale the event technology experience.
- MarTech Partnership: Serve as the senior Event Marketing partner to the Event Technology Product Manager and MarTech organization, translating portfolio, event, audience, and business requirements into technology needs and influencing the broader event technology roadmap.
- Portfolio Technology Planning: Partner with portfolio and functional leaders to understand future event requirements, identify common technology needs, and establish portfolio-level priorities and approaches.
- Strategic Program Leadership: Serve as the Event Technology Operations lead for AMD’s highest-priority and most complex event programs, including Advancing AI, owning the event technology approach, integrated requirements, readiness, and delivery while applying insights from these programs to evolve the broader Event Technology Operations capability.
- Technology Standards & Governance: Establish standards, processes, workflows, documentation, data requirements, readiness expectations, and governance for event technology implementation across the portfolio.
- Resource & Service Planning: Define the resource, vendor, support, and service models required to deliver event technology effectively across programs, balancing centralized expertise, external support, and portfolio demand.
- Technology Readiness & Risk: Establish portfolio-wide testing, readiness, escalation, contingency, and risk management frameworks to ensure reliable live-event deployment.
- Vendor & Investment Management: Lead operational relationships with event technology vendors and service partners and develop recommendations related to service models, scope, investments, performance, and future requirements.
- Stakeholder Leadership: Advise Event Marketing leadership, portfolio owners, and functional stakeholders on technology capabilities, investment requirements, risks, opportunities, and trade-offs.
- Adoption & Enablement: Establish training, documentation, support, and adoption models that enable event teams and stakeholders to use event technology effectively and consistently.
- Performance & Optimization: Establish functional success measures, evaluate technology performance and user feedback, and partner with MarTech and vendors to drive continuous improvement.
- Team Leadership: Build, lead, coach, and develop the Event Technology Operations team, establishing clear accountability, development opportunities, and a scalable talent model as the capability evolves.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Extensive progressive experience in event technology, event operations, marketing technology, digital experiences, or related disciplines.
- Demonstrated experience leading event technology capabilities across large-scale, complex, or global event portfolios and programs.
- Experience developing operating models, standards, services, and scalable approaches for event technology delivery.
- Strong understanding of registration, attendee management, mobile experiences, lead capture, onsite technology, event data workflows, integrations, and related event technology capabilities.
- Demonstrated ability to translate business, audience, and event requirements into technology strategies and operational solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to partner with Product Management, IT, MarTech, and business organizations while maintaining clear functional ownership.
- Experience managing significant vendor relationships, service models, and technology investments.
- Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and guide complex technology, investment, and prioritization decisions.
- Strong people leadership with experience developing talent and building organizational capability.
- Strong strategic thinking, financial acumen, communication, judgment, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to operate effectively in high-pressure live-event environments.
- Willingness to travel and work flexible hours as required.
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
- Bachelor's degree in Technology, Marketing, Business, Event Management, or a related field preferred
