Position Overview

The Vice President, Finance & Premium Operations leads a team of 40+ professionals responsible for premium cash receipts, cash application, accounts receivable follow-up and discrepancy resolution, vendor payables, and cash remittance. This leader combines day-to-day operational discipline with strategic partnership, working closely with the COO and Amwins Group Finance to strengthen controls, improve financial and operational reporting, and scale the function with the business.

The role offers the opportunity to shape team structure and advance modernization through automated cash applications, Power BI reporting, and external support partnerships. Success requires a leader of high integrity who develops people, brings sound judgment to financial operations, and carries strategic initiatives from business cases through implementation, adoption, and measurable results. Over time, the role has the potential to evolve into a broader leadership opportunity within the Amwins Benefits Division.

  • Support month-end close activities for premium accounting and cash operations.
  • Own the accounts receivable aging and sign-off process, establishing aging thresholds, review responsibilities, and criteria for balances requiring escalation or follow-up.
  • Manage write-off approval limits and secondary approval responsibilities; approve system access and new operating company setup requests.

  • Ensure timely performance reviews and compensation and bonus recommendations.
  • Design and adjust team structure to support business growth, effective controls, and clear ownership across reconciliation, premium escalation, remittance, and support activities.

Strategic Initiatives, Technology & Reporting

  • Lead strategic initiatives from inception through implementation and realization of expected benefits, including business case development, cross-functional coordination, and post-implementation adoption.
  • Partner with Analytics/BI and Accounting Development on automation, reporting, and financial and operational data models.
  • Advance modernization initiatives such as automated cash application, bulk remittance processing, Power BI reporting, and external support partnerships.
  • Partner with the COO and senior management team to assess organizational performance against business strategy.
  • Drive financial process improvement, develop meaningful KPIs, and establish monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting to Amwins Group.

Cross-Functional Partnership & Representation

  • Serve as a key financial relationship connector between Amwins Self-Funded leadership and Amwins Group Finance.
  • Collaborate with peer directors, managers, and supervisors across Amwins to resolve cross-functional issues and advance shared priorities.
  • Represent Premium Finance in regional and Group-level operations discussions as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA and/or CMA preferred but not required.
  • 8+ years of experience in managerial accounting operations, premium accounting, or related financial operations roles.
  • 5+ years of experience leading managerial accounting operations, premium accounting, or related financial operations roles.
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams of 30+ through organizational or process change.
  • Knowledge of GAAP, budgeting and forecasting, and automated financial and accounting reporting systems.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
