The posting

Summary

At Apple, extraordinary ideas become products, services, and experiences that shape culture. Bring passion and precision to your craft, and there's no limit to what you can build.

The Content Design team supports Apple Services products and defines the content experience across some of Apple's most visible products. We focus on how people consume, create, and connect across all our applications.

We're looking for an Asset Manager to build and run the practice that underpins how our group creates, organizes, stores, and retrieves visual assets at scale. This role marries creative operations and technology, bringing a tech-forward mindset to how imagery is tagged, searched, archived, and surfaced across the organization. You'll architect the systems and tools that let curators, photo editors, and generative partners work faster and with greater precision, as the volume and variety of visual content continues to grow.

Description

As Asset Manager, you will:

-Drive requirements for the technical strategy and roadmap for DAM and CMS systems, including evaluating, implementing, and optimizing platforms to meet the group's evolving needs. -Define and enforce metadata, taxonomy, and tagging standards to improve discoverability and search accuracy across the image and video library. -Partner with photo editors and image curators to understand workflow pain points and translate them into tooling and process improvements. -Design and build, or guide partners in building, internal tools that streamline ingestion, tagging, search, and retrieval of visual assets. -Oversee archiving strategy and lifecycle management for the library, ensuring assets are properly stored, versioned, and preserved. -Work with legal and licensing partners to ensure metadata and systems support contract, usage rights, and licensing compliance for 3P and stock content. -Drive search optimization initiatives, including exploring AI/ML-based tagging and retrieval solutions. -Act as a key stakeholder in cross-functional discussions on policy and ethical frameworks as they relate to asset provenance, usage, and generative content tracking. -Longterm, potential to lead and develop a small team of asset management specialists, setting goals, workflows, and growth paths.

Minimum Qualifications

7+ years of experience in digital asset management, media operations, or a related field, with experience in a creative or visual media environment. 3+ years of people management experience, with a track record of developing high-performing teams. Deep understanding of DAM/CMS platforms and architecture, with experience leading implementations or major system builds. Strong grasp of metadata standards, taxonomy design, and search/retrieval optimization. Experience partnering with engineering teams to scope and build custom tools or integrations. Familiarity with photo/video production workflows, licensing and usage rights, and archiving best practices. Working knowledge of generative AI tools and the unique metadata and asset management challenges they introduce. Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills, able to work fluidly across creative, legal, and engineering teams.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with AI/ML-based image tagging, classification, or search tools. Background in photography, visual arts, or creative production. Experience building evaluation systems or quality frameworks for visual content. Exposure to emerging areas such as generative imagery, 3D asset generation, or spatial/volumetric content. Experience establishing an asset management practice from the ground up in an ambiguous or fast-evolving environment.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
