The posting

Our client is a prominent global trading and logistics corporation specializing in energy products, petrochemicals, and maritime fuel solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Risk Control & Position Monitoring

  • Monitor daily trading positions, exposure levels, and ensure alignment with established corporate risk limits and hedging strategies.
  • Track contract expiries, options exercises/assignments, and oversee rolling mechanisms for commodity futures.
  • Establish, maintain, and audit robust internal control frameworks, procedures, and operational checklists to mitigate operational risk.

Margin & Collateral Risk Management

  • Oversee Initial Margin (IM), Variation Margin (VM), and collateral requirements across all brokers, clearinghouses, and OTC counterparties.
  • Manage margin calls, optimize cash movements, and forecast short-term liquidity/funding requirements arising from derivative positions.
  • Escalate potential funding gaps or margin stresses to Treasury and senior management in a timely manner.

Trade Lifecycle & Exception Management

  • Supervise the complete derivative trade lifecycle from trade capture, confirmation, through to final settlement.
  • Investigate and resolve critical trade breaks, pricing discrepancies, and delivery exceptions by coordinating with brokers and counterparties.
  • Ensure accurate and real-time reflection of physical and financial derivative positions in internal ETRM/CTRM systems.

Performance & Exposure Reporting

  • Generate daily P&L attribution, market exposure summaries, and management information reports for executive decision-making.
  • Support internal and external audit requirements related to derivative valuations and control effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a business-related discipline.
  • 3-5 years of experience in Middle Office, Risk Operations, Trade Support, or Derivatives Operations.
  • Solid experience within an energy trading firm, commodity trading house, or financial institution.
  • Strong control mindset with hands-on experience in margin management, collateral forecasting, and trade reconciliation.
  • Proficiency in Excel (Advanced formulas, VBA preferred); familiarity with commodity trading systems (ETRM) is a strong plus.
  • Detail-oriented, highly analytical, with the ability to handle high-pressure environments and solve complex operational breaks independently.
