The Senior Interior Designer at Arcadis plays a key role in the design and delivery of innovative, high-quality hotels and hospitality interiors. This position requires a strong combination of creative vision, technical expertise, project leadership, and client engagement.

The successful candidate will lead interior design projects from concept through construction, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and contribute to the growth and design excellence of the Hospitality Interiors practice.

Role accountabilities:

• Lead and execute all phases of interior design for hotels and hospitality projects, from conceptual design and schematic design through design development, construction documentation, and construction administration.

• Develop compelling, innovative design concepts that respond to client objectives, brand standards, project budgets, and operational requirements.

• Lead interior space planning, programming, material and finish selections, furniture layouts, lighting coordination, and architectural detailing.

• Prepare and oversee design deliverables, including concept presentations, mood boards, renderings, finish plans, elevations, construction documents, specifications, and FF&E schedules.

• Demonstrate strong technical knowledge of interior architectural detailing, materials, building systems, accessibility requirements, and applicable building codes.

• Coordinate with architects, engineers, lighting designers, consultants, vendors, and other project stakeholders to deliver cohesive, fully integrated design solutions.

• Manage project deliverables, schedules, and design resources to ensure quality, efficiency, and adherence to project budgets.

• Lead design presentations and participate in client meetings, effectively communicating design intent and resolving project challenges.

• Oversee design quality and consistency throughout all project phases, including reviewing drawings, specifications, submittals, and shop drawings.

• Provide construction administration support, including responding to RFIs, reviewing submittals, and assisting with field coordination.

• Mentor junior designers, provide technical and creative guidance, and foster a collaborative studio environment.

• Collaborate with design leadership to advance the overall design quality, technical capabilities, and growth of the Hospitality Interiors practice.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Interior Design.

• 8–10 years of professional interior design experience, with a strong background in hotel and hospitality interiors.

• Demonstrated experience designing branded hotels, including familiarity with major hospitality brands, brand standards, design guidelines, and approval processes.

• Demonstrated experience independently leading hospitality interior design projects through all phases of design and construction.

• Strong portfolio demonstrating design creativity, sophisticated material selections, space planning, technical detailing, and completed hospitality projects.

• Advanced proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD, with working knowledge of SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and visualization software.

• Strong understanding of construction documentation, interior architectural detailing, finish specifications, and FF&E coordination.

• Knowledge of building codes, ADA accessibility requirements, life-safety standards, and relevant industry regulations.

• Experience coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and managing complex design requirements.

• Strong organizational and project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities.

• Excellent verbal, written, and visual communication skills, with confidence presenting to clients and project stakeholders.

• Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including mentoring junior staff and overseeing design deliverables.

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make informed design and technical decisions independently.

• Experience working directly with hotel owners, operators, brands, and project consultants.

• NCIDQ certification or professional interior design registration preferred.

• Experience with upscale, upper-upscale, luxury, lifestyle, and full-service hotel environments is highly desirable.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
