The posting

Hi there, we’re Article. 👋 Since 2013, we have been redefining the furniture industry one sofa at a time, it’s not easy — it requires solving challenging, meaningful problems. This is where you come in, as an HQ Operations Manager, you'll oversee Article’s Vancouver headquarters operations, ensuring a welcoming, organized, and efficient workplace.

*Please note this role requires you to be onsite 5 days per week.

This role manages reception, warehouse services, facilities, travel administration, vendor coordination, and workplace events. Reporting to the VP, Logistics, the Operations Manager leads a team of up to 10 employees, including two team leads, with accountability for service standards, team development, operational efficiency, and budget management.

For this role, we want an operations expert with experience working with property management companies and/or city officials. You will manage the facilities and HQ warehouse team, you do not need to be the expert in warehouse or facilities day-to-day (as the team leads will be the subject matter experts in those departments).

A background in warehouse, facilities (HQ), or hospitality operations management is helpful but not an essential requirement for the role.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Oversee daily HQ operations, including reception, workplace hospitality, shared spaces, warehouse activities, and employee services.

  • Administer employee travel programs, including routine inquiries, provider coordination, and backup approvals.
  • Support Particle Board events, employee engagement activities, and internal meetings, including budget and vendor coordination.
  • Manage HQ operating budgets, purchasing, invoice reviews, vendor agreements, and cost controls within delegated authority.
  • Collaborate with internal departments, Procurement, Finance, Safety, and external service providers to resolve operational issues and implement process improvements.

Who You Are

  • Previous experience in an Operations Management or similar People Leadership role in an office environment, hospitality or guest services..
  • Strong customer service background.
  • Previous experience managing and negotiating with property management companies and/or city by law officials.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
