The posting

As a Reporting Specialist you prepare and maintain standard and tailored reporting for Athora Netherlands. You ensure completeness and data quality, make analysis of key movements, and help evolve templates and disclosures in line with internal policies and external guidance. Does this sound like something for you? We’d be happy to receive your CV!

What you need to know about us

We are Athora Netherlands, an insurance company with the well-known brands Zwitserleven and Reaal. We are mainly involved in pensions and life insurance in the Dutch market. We are part of a European group with offices in Ireland, the United Kingdom, Belgium, Germany and Italy. We are a strong company with over one million customers and we want to grow into one of the most important players in the rapidly changing pension market in the coming years. That is why we are looking for people who are not afraid of change, who are getting things done, who have the ambition to achieve results and who therefore know how to get the best out of themselves and their team. Smarter together, we call it.

What are you going to do?

You'll be part of the Reporting department at Athora Netherlands, the team consists of 16 professionals. We enjoy working together in an open and inclusive work culture where everyone can be themselves and is given plenty of room to grow, both personally and professionally. The team is responsible for delivering integrated IFRS, regulatory and investment reports to internal and external stakeholders, including the board, our shareholder (Athora Group), and De Nederlandsche Bank. You work independently on assigned topics while collaborating closely with your colleagues.

Key responsibilities:

  • Deliver end-to-end reporting streams (IFRS/Dutch GAAP, Group, Sustainability, Solvency II and other regulatory) in line with timelines and quality standards.
  • Support with investment data collection across Finance, Risk, Investment Office and IT; ensure data quality, governance, security and audit trail.
  • Perform reconciliations and (non-)standard analyses; translate outcomes into clear narratives and recommendations.
  • Own and improve reporting templates, disclosures, process documentation and internal controls.
  • Maintaining contact with stakeholders (incl. auditors, regulator and parent company) at operational level.
  • Drive continuous improvement in reporting processes, controls, tooling, data warehousing and automation.
  • Analyse key movements and drivers (investments and/or liabilities) and deliver concise commentary and insights for stakeholders.
  • Stay up to date with relevant reporting developments and proactively share knowledge within the team.

  • Located in the Netherlands.
  • Strong IFRS reporting knowledge; Solvency II reporting knowledge and insurance-sector experience are strong advantages.
  • Experience or affinity with AI and/or data analytics, including structuring, validating and analyzing large datasets (e.g. Excel, Power BI and/or SQL); experience in improving data quality is a plus.
  • Basic accounting knowledge (bookkeeping / journal entries) is a plus, especially in an investment context.
  • You’re eager to learn and develop yourself, result-oriented and improvement-driven.

What do you get from us?

You get about 900 colleagues who all think they work for a special company. You will have the opportunity to make an important contribution to the socially relevant theme of pensions. We make sure that your pension is well taken care of so you can enjoy a carefree retirement.

You will have the opportunity to really make a difference when it comes to sustainability, because we have a leading role in our business operations and investments for years. Of course, you will get a (flexible) workplace at one of our offices that are among the best 7% in the world. And because you also work regularly from home, you will receive a budget to set up your home office properly.

In exchange for your commitment, talent and skills, next to your salary, a holiday allowance and a thirteenth month, you will receive 27 vacation days (with a 36-hour contract) and a public transport card or travel allowance for the days you come to the office. And, not unimportantly, we think, you will receive a training budget, so that you can continue to develop yourself. This gives you the opportunity to grow, within our company or beyond.

Salary per month: based on CLA scale 14 or 15 HAY, the range is € 3.820,83 to € 5.780,73 based on 36 hours.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
