Job description
We’re building the atrain Innovation Hub, based at our headquarters in Bamberg — a small, AI-native team creating products at the intersection of psychology, learning and technology. Think AI-powered leadership tools, business simulations, immersive learning experiences and entirely new formats that don’t exist yet. We’re looking for someone who doesn’t just build what already exists. We’re looking for someone who helps invent what should exist next. WE HAVE SOME INTERESTING PROBLEMS TO SOLVE
01 — Reinvent Assessment How could AI make assessments faster and smarter — without losing the human judgment that makes them valuable?
02 — Eliminate Repetitive Work What could consultants achieve if AI handled the routine work and humans focused entirely on creating impact?
03 — Build What Doesn’t Exist Yet We’re building products, simulations and experiences that don’t have a blueprint. Turn one of our ideas into a working prototype within two weeks. Not a presentation. Not a specification. A real product people can interact with. YOUR MISSION • Turn ideas into things people actually use. • Build prototypes in days, not months. • Use AI not as a shortcut, but as your primary building material.
You will: • Build interactive AI-powered prototypes and MVPs • Translate ideas and experiential concepts into products people can actually use • Work with modern AI coding agents and AI-native development tools every day • Test quickly, learn quickly and improve quickly • Bring new technical possibilities into the conversation before anyone else sees them • Collaborate closely with our Experience Design counterpart and subject matter experts • Connect technology, product thinking and user experience • Help shape what becomes possible, not just what gets built
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT • Real ownership from day one • Direct collaboration with our founder and a highly collaborative team with strong support from atrain’s Content, Digital and IT experts • Significant freedom, paired with meaningful responsibility • A culture focused on impact rather than bureaucracy • A six-month virtual introduction phase before relocation becomes relevant • Long-term development opportunities far beyond this role We’re less interested in degrees and credentials than in evidence that you can build. We'd also love to see: • Experience using modern AI tools, coding agents and AI-assisted development workflows • Strong learning agility and the ability to become productive quickly in unfamiliar domains • An understanding of product quality beyond technical functionality • Good judgement around usability, interaction design and user experience • The ability to review, validate and improve AI-generated output rather than simply accepting it WHAT WE DO CARE ABOUT IS: • What you’ve built. • How you think. • How quickly you learn. • Whether you turn ambiguity into action. • Whether you’re curious enough to constantly explore what’s next. You don’t need a computer science degree. You don’t need consulting experience. You don’t need to have held this exact role before. No specific job experience required. What matters is your ability to learn, build and turn ideas into reality. Sounds more interesting than maintaining someone else’s backlog? Let’s talk — but please: Don’t send us a traditional cover letter. Instead, send us something that shows how you think and build: • Something you’ve built or redesigned • Something you think is badly designed — and how you’d improve it • A prototype • A Figma project • A GitHub repository • Or something we haven’t thought of? Also great!
