The posting
Ready to take the next step into Practice Management?
Practice Operations Lead | Tweed Heads South, NSW Five days preferred | Four days considered
You might already be the person everyone turns to when the appointment book falls apart, a team member needs support or a process needs fixing.
If you've built solid experience leading people and keeping a healthcare practice running, this could be your opportunity to take on a more formal management role—with a supported transition and a clear salary progression to work towards.
Attention To Dental is recruiting for an established, independently owned dental practice in Tweed Heads South. The practice has moved into larger, purpose-built premises and is looking for someone who can bring organisation, sound judgement and follow-through to its daily operations.
There's room to grow here
You'll begin as Practice Operations Lead, working alongside the owners and existing management. A structured handover will give you time to understand the practice, build relationships and gradually assume agreed management responsibilities.
The starting salary is $75,000 plus superannuation for five days per week.
Following a successful six-month review, demonstrated capability and readiness to take on Practice Manager responsibilities, the salary would progress to $98,000 plus superannuation, subject to formal agreement. Progression requires a five-day commitment and is based on performance and readiness.
For the right candidate, a four-day arrangement at $70,000 plus superannuation is also available at the initial stage.
A performance bonus after 12 months is being considered, with details yet to be agreed.
What you'll take responsibility for
You'll have a practical role in how the practice runs, including:
- Organising reception workflows, rosters and staff coverage.
- Helping the team maintain consistent patient service.
- Coaching staff, setting clear expectations and addressing concerns constructively.
- Overseeing payroll coordination, budgets and inventory purchasing through existing systems.
- Reviewing operational performance and following through on agreed improvements.
- Supporting treatment coordination and patient communication, with clinical decisions remaining with the dentists.
- Improving procedures, onboarding and everyday task follow-up.
- Stepping in at reception when the team needs a hand.
This is a non-clinical role, with responsibilities and decision-making authority agreed with the owners and existing management.
We'd like to hear what you've done
Perhaps you've improved a difficult workflow, helped a team work better together or introduced a system that people actually use.
You'll need experience leading people and coordinating operations in a dental, medical, allied health or similar healthcare setting. You should be comfortable with financial administration, learning software and having fair, direct conversations when something needs attention.
Dental experience and Dental4Windows knowledge would be valuable. Strong healthcare leadership experience from outside dentistry will also be considered.
The practical details
- Permanent position, with five days preferred.
- Indicative hours of approximately 8:30 am–5:00 pm, with final arrangements to be confirmed.
- November or December 2026 start preferred for handover; January 2027 considered for the right person.
- Six-month probation period.
Interested? Let's hear from you.
