The posting

Job Description:

We are looking for a proactive and analytical Senior Engineer – PPIC to manage production planning, material planning, inventory control, and coordination across manufacturing, procurement, warehouse, and logistics functions. The role will ensure optimum resource utilization, material availability, adherence to production schedules, and effective inventory management to support business and operational objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Production Planning & Scheduling

  • Develop and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly production plans based on demand forecasts, customer requirements, material availability, and production capacity. Coordinate with production teams to ensure adherence to planned schedules and production targets. Monitor production progress, identify deviations, and implement corrective actions to minimize delays. Optimize production schedules to improve capacity utilization, throughput, and operational efficiency.

2. Material Requirement Planning (MRP)

  • Calculate raw material, consumables, and packaging material requirements based on production plans and BOMs, wherever applicable. Coordinate with procurement and warehouse teams to ensure timely material availability and prevent production interruptions. Monitor material shortages, lead times, pending purchase orders, and replenishment requirements. Align material planning with production priorities and inventory availability.

3. Inventory Control & Management

  • Monitor raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), finished goods, and consumables inventory. Maintain optimum inventory levels while minimizing excess stock, shortages, and inventory carrying costs. Conduct regular stock reconciliation and coordinate physical stock verification. Track slow-moving, non-moving, and obsolete inventory and recommend appropriate corrective actions. Ensure accurate inventory transactions and traceability of material movements.

4. Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Work closely with Production, Procurement, Warehouse, Quality, Maintenance, and Logistics teams to ensure smooth operations. Communicate production priorities, material constraints, and schedule changes to relevant stakeholders. Coordinate dispatch planning and finished goods availability in line with customer commitments and business requirements. Support resolution of production bottlenecks and supply chain issues.

5. MIS, Reporting & Process Improvement

  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on production plans versus actuals, material availability, inventory levels, and plan adherence. Monitor KPIs such as schedule adherence, inventory accuracy, stockout frequency, production attainment, and material utilization. Maintain accurate planning records and ensure timely ERP transactions. Identify opportunities to improve planning accuracy, reduce material wastage, and enhance operational efficiency. Support root-cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.

6. ERP & Compliance

  • Maintain planning and inventory data in ERP systems such as SAP or equivalent platforms. Ensure accurate master data, material codes, BOMs, lead times, and inventory records. Follow applicable safety, quality, environmental, and operational procedures relevant to recycling and manufacturing operations.

Required Qualifications

  • 4–7 years of relevant experience in PPIC, production planning, material planning, or inventory control in a manufacturing or process industry. Experience in recycling, metals, chemicals, electronics manufacturing, automotive components, or other industrial manufacturing environments would be advantageous.

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Strong understanding of production planning, scheduling, MRP, and inventory management. Working knowledge of ERP systems, preferably SAP PP/MM, or equivalent ERP software. Proficiency in MS Excel, including lookups, Pivot Tables, and production/inventory reporting. Understanding of BOMs, material lead times, capacity planning, and production constraints. Strong analytical, problem-solving, coordination, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Production plan adherence and schedule attainment. Material availability and reduction in production stoppages due to material shortages. Inventory accuracy and stock reconciliation. Inventory turnover and control of excess or obsolete stock. Planning accuracy and timely availability of materials. Reduction in material wastage and improvement in resource utilization. Timeliness and accuracy of MIS and ERP reporting.

Preferred Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in production and material planning, strong ERP and Excel skills, and the ability to coordinate effectively with cross-functional teams. Candidates with exposure to process-driven manufacturing, complex material flows, and inventory-intensive operations will be preferred.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
