The posting

AutoScout24, Global Company operating in the Digital Automotive sector is seeking a Lead Counsel Italy for a full-time position.

The Role

Are you looking for a new challenge in a dynamic, fast-paced environment? We are looking for a Lead Counsel Italy with 3–5 years of experience gained in an international law firm or inhouse environment, serving as the primary legal contact for the company.

This is a newly created role within the company: a unique opportunity to shape and develop the local legal function from the ground up. You will support a growing business operating through three Italian legal entities, with a role that can evolve alongside the organisation’s growth and increasing complexity.

You will report to the Country Manager working with the Italian Management Team while being part of an international legal community. Regular collaboration, knowledge sharing and constructive exchange with our Global Legal Department will be a key element of the role, offering exposure to cross-border projects, group-wide standards and best practices.

If you are passionate about taking ownership, supporting the business as a true partner and working in an international environment, this is your chance

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will report to the Country Manager working with the Management Team on a variety of matters, including but not limited to:

  • Be the first point of contact for all legal matters concerning the Italian Business - supporting operational teams across Sales, Marketing, Product, Procurement, and IT.
  • Take ownership of all contractual and commercial law topics: drafting, reviewing, and updating agreements in Italian and English across the digital marketplace ecosystem, - including partnership agreements, content and marketing contracts, IT and service agreements, agency and consultancy contracts. Supporting business and Finance in negotiations where needed.
  • Act as a strategic legal partner to business teams in launching and developing new digital products and services in a fast-paced tech environment.
  • Collaborate closely and proactively with our global Legal Department based in Munich to ensure that local Italian legal processes are seamlessly aligned with group-wide standards, while contributing Italian market insights and best practices to the international team
  • Participate in cross-functional and international projects, fostering an open and constructive exchange with Legal colleagues and other stakeholders across the Group.
  • Coordinate and optimize legal processes in cooperation with internal stakeholders and external partners (law firms, authorities, and business partners).
  • Support on GDPR and regulatory compliance topics.
  • Support bad debt recovery from a legal perspective.

Candidate Profile

  • Qualified lawyer with a degree in law (Avvocato or equivalent).
  • 3-5 years of experience in a law firm or in-house, ideally with a focus on contract law, commercial law, and digital business models.
  • Independent, structured, and precise working style combined with strong communication skills and a pragmatic, business-oriented mindset.
  • A collaborative approach and genuine interest in working with international teams in a multicultural environment.
  • Creative and solution-driven approach to developing legal frameworks for new business models, with a solid understanding of commercial and technical contexts.
  • Fluent in Italian and English. German is a plus.

Compensation

Salary range: €45,000–€65,000 gross annual salary, depending on experience, skills and the level of responsibility required for the role.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
