The posting

We’re looking for passionate and hardworking Chefs de Partie, Commis Chef and Kitchen Porter to join our kitchen team at Barangaroo House.

With a range of busy kitchens, dining concepts and service styles across the precinct, this is a great opportunity to join a fast-paced environment, build your experience and work alongside experienced chefs.

Whether you’re an experienced Chef de Partie ready for your next opportunity or a Commis Chef looking to build your skills in a professional kitchen, we’d love to hear from you.

About the Roles

Chef de Partie - Full-Time

As a CDP, you’ll take ownership of your section during service, maintaining high food standards while working closely with the senior kitchen team. You’ll have the opportunity to develop your skills across preparation, service and kitchen operations while working in a busy hospitality environment.

Commis Chef - Casual

As a Commis Chef, you’ll support the kitchen team with preparation, service and general kitchen duties. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their culinary career to gain hands-on experience, learn from experienced chefs and develop their skills in a high-volume environment.

Kitchen Porter – Casual

As a Kitchen Porter, you’ll play an important role in keeping the kitchen clean, organised and running efficiently. Your duties will include washing dishes and kitchen equipment, maintaining cleanliness across kitchen areas, assisting with general cleaning and supporting the chefs during service. We’re looking for someone reliable, hardworking and happy to get stuck in as part of a busy team.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for chefs who have:

  • Previous experience in a commercial kitchen for CDP roles
  • A passion for food and hospitality
  • A strong work ethic and positive attitude
  • The ability to work well as part of a team
  • Good organisation and communication skills
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen
  • A commitment to food safety, cleanliness and kitchen standards
  • Relevant commercial cookery qualifications or currently completing your apprenticeship
  • Full Australian working rights
