Job Description

BAI CHUAN HUI is seeking an experienced Business Director to oversee the company's business operations, strategic planning, and market development activities, with a focus on the import, wholesale distribution, and trading of Chinese baijiu and other alcoholic beverage products.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing business strategies, managing commercial operations, strengthening supplier and distributor relationships, and driving sustainable business growth in Singapore and regional markets.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop and implement overall business strategies, annual operating plans, and market expansion initiatives.
  2. Lead and oversee the company's wholesale trading, import, and distribution operations to ensure operational efficiency.
  3. Establish and maintain strong business relationships with local and overseas suppliers, distributors, wholesalers, retailers, and corporate clients.
  4. Identify new business opportunities and expand distribution channels for Chinese baijiu and other alcoholic beverage products.
  5. Oversee commercial negotiations, procurement arrangements, pricing strategies, and key customer contracts.
  6. Manage operational budgets, financial performance, revenue targets, and business profitability.
  7. Supervise and coordinate sales, procurement, logistics, and other business functions.
  8. Ensure compliance with relevant Singapore laws and regulations governing the importation, trading, distribution, and sale of alcoholic beverages.
  9. Analyse market trends, competitor activities, and customer demand to support strategic business decisions.
  10. Provide strategic leadership and prepare regular business performance reports for company management.

Job Requirements

  1. Relevant qualifications in Business Administration, International Trade, Marketing, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience, would be advantageous.
  2. Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in wholesale trading, international business development, distribution, or commercial management.
  3. Proven experience in managing business operations, developing commercial strategies, and establishing business partnerships.
  4. Experience in the wine and spirits, FMCG, import/export, or wholesale distribution industry would be an advantage.
  5. Strong leadership, commercial judgment, negotiation, and strategic planning skills.
  6. Good understanding of Singapore's business environment, trading practices, and relevant regulatory requirements.
  7. Ability to work independently, manage multiple business priorities, and deliver business objectives.
  8. Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
  9. Ability to communicate effectively with international suppliers and business partners would be advantageous.
