Lead complex electrical systems, provide SME fault support, and drive resilient power infrastructure across BAI’s mission‑critical national network.   WHY BAI COMMUNICATIONS It’s an exciting time to be part of BAI Communications. Building on our achievements in broadcasting, telecommunications and critical communications, we continue to expand our operations, helping connect people and support communities.   We operate one of the world’s most extensive broadcast networks, delivering fully managed television and radio services to 99% of the Australian population. During crises such as natural disasters, national broadcasters depend on BAI to maintain vital communications, while emergency services trust us to keep them connected and informed.   As 5G technology transforms connectivity, BAI is leveraging global experience to enable comprehensive coverage in challenging environments—buildings, tunnels, stadiums, and high-density areas. This expertise positions us at the forefront of intelligent, connected infrastructure development across Australia.   Our acquisition of Titan ICT has strengthened our mission-critical capabilities, adding deep expertise in mining, resources, and energy industries. This expansion enables us to deploy robust solutions across Australia’s most demanding operational environments.   Discover more through BAI360, our virtual tour platform.    LET’S EXPLORE THE ROLE As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will be the technical authority ensuring resilient design, safe operation, and high‑performance delivery of BAI’s power infrastructure. You will bridge theoretical design and real‑world field performance, providing expert‑level support aligned with Design Authority standards. You will lead advanced troubleshooting, guide operational teams through complex faults, and play a pivotal role in maintaining the reliability and safety of BAI’s mains and standby power systems—across both modern and legacy infrastructure.   Key Responsibilities:

Lead and coordinate technical, commercial, and compliance aspects of electrical design requirements. Prepare and peer‑review complex engineering design packages to ensure alignment with Design Authority standards. Act as SME escalation point for operational incidents and unplanned events. Perform advanced troubleshooting across generators, UPS, ATS units, switchboards, protection systems, and control interfaces. Support commissioning activities—offering remote or onsite SME support as required. Oversee and guide contractors to ensure consistent engineering and safety standards. Apply current codes, standards, and best practices to BAI engineering documentation. Prepare high‑quality engineering deliverables—including specifications, designs, reports, and feasibility assessments. Provide SME input for bid development and technical solutioning. Build collaborative relationships across BAI teams, partners, suppliers, and regulators.

LET’S HEAR ABOUT YOU You’re a highly skilled electrical engineer with deep technical capability in power systems, exceptional troubleshooting capability, and the ability to operate as the organisation’s “go‑to” expert for major incidents and complex design matters.   Technical Skills Required

Advanced understanding of electrical regulations, statutory requirements, and AS/NZS 3000. Expert‑level experience across commercial electrical systems including:

standby generation, UPS, ATS, metering switchboards, earthing, surge protection control systems and system interactions

SME‑level capability in root‑cause analysis, troubleshooting, and operational diagnostics across critical electrical infrastructure. Ability to review complex electrical design submissions and coach others. Advanced experience in onsite commissioning. Working knowledge of AutoCAD and PowerCAD. Strong engineering fundamentals; rapidly absorbs and disseminates complex technical information.

  Qualifications & Requirements

Degree in Electrical Engineering (suitable for Engineers Australia graduate‑level entry). Australian driver’s licence. Criminal History Check required. Chartered or working towards Chartered status desirable.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
