Job Description

Position Description:

Nevada Gold Mines is looking for an Open Pit Washbay Technician to join our Cortez District Open Pit Maintenance Team.

Responsibilities:

  • Daily fuel bay and wash bay duties to include fueling and light mechanical servicing of equipment
  • Washing equipment in preparation for PM work that requires focus on safety
  • Work management, equipment reliability, maintenance cost, performance management, and promoting a team environment between mobile maintenance and other work groups
  • Maintaining personal hand tools for functionality and cleanliness
  • Maintaining a high standard of housekeeping in all work areas to provide a safe and healthy workplace for all employees, contractors, and vendors
  • Establishing work relationships necessary to efficiently execute the daily maintenance activities through his/her assigned zone
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Basic mechanic aptitude preferred
  • Previous experience in an underground mining environment preferred
  • Ability to operate various types of moving equipment preferred
  • Basic computer skills required
  • Proven strong record of work safety as well as work attendance required
  • Ability to perform the essential function of the position required
