You’ll work with staff and students to solve complex problems, provide excellent customer service and help improve our timetabling and module processes.

About the Role

Academic timetabling: Support the creation and maintenance of accurate, clash-free academic timetables across the University’s teaching sites, using TimeEdit.

Timetable requirements: Work with Course Leaders and senior academics to gather, understand and translate complex teaching requirements into workable timetable solutions.

Module administration: Set up and maintain accurate module records in SITS and ensure students are allocated to the correct modules and credits.

Module selection: Support and lead aspects of the annual module selection process, including maintaining student-facing selection portals and guidance.

Data accuracy and problem solving: Analyse information, identify and resolve timetable and module allocation issues, including non-standard or complex cases.

Customer service: Provide specialist advice and support to students and staff through the CRM and team inbox, explaining complex timetable and module information clearly and professionally.

Room booking: Support ad hoc room booking processes, particularly for teaching sites outside Bath.

Team collaboration: Work closely with colleagues across Academic Registry and other University teams to deliver effective timetable and module services.

Operational support: Attend occasional meetings and travel to other teaching sites to support induction, operational reviews and other activities, including some out-of-hours work during peak periods.

About You

  • Experience of providing excellent customer service, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with a range of stakeholders.
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills, with excellent attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate data and records.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret information, identify issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Ability to plan and prioritise workload effectively, working independently while also contributing positively as part of a team.
  • Experience of working with databases or database packages, particularly where accurate data management is important.
  • Experience of working within a Higher Education environment, particularly in relation to academic administration or student processes.
  • Experience of working with complex information or processes, requiring careful interpretation and attention to detail.
  • Experience of supporting or advising users on systems and processes, including explaining complex information clearly.
  • Evidence of a proactive approach to personal and professional development, with a willingness to learn new systems and develop specialist knowledge.

Additional Information

Salary Grade 5 - Starting from £30,180 rising to £33,662 per annum

Additional Information

  • Some out of hours working will be occasionally required, including some evenings and specific weekends during the academic year (such as Induction and Registration)
  • Opportunities for taking annual leave during peak times of year (especially September/October) will be limited, and leave at other times will need to be assessed across the team so that service provision is not impacted

Interview Date - Friday 30th October 2026

Please note that as of April 2024, there has been a change in the UK’s sponsorship threshold. Regrettably as the salary for this role falls beneath this, you will not be eligible for sponsorship therefore your application will automatically be rejected.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
