At BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee, we're seeking a Business Analyst who is passionate about solving complex business challenges, driving strategic initiatives, and delivering innovative solutions that improve the healthcare experience for our members and customers. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to work on high-impact initiatives that influence healthcare products, customer experiences, and enterprise strategy while contributing to a mission-focused organization dedicated to improving the health and well-being of the people we serve.

In this role, you'll collaborate with cross-functional partners across Product, Operations, Clinical, Technology, Finance, and vendor organizations to identify opportunities, define business requirements, and help bring strategic initiatives from concept to implementation. You'll work alongside leaders and subject matter experts across the organization, using data, business insights, and industry knowledge to evaluate opportunities, influence decisions, drive innovation and continuous improvement, and support product enhancements that deliver measurable value to the business.

Ideal candidates for the role will bring:

  • The ability to navigate ambiguity and successfully manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • The ability to translate complex business needs into actionable strategies.
  • Strong facilitation skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • A focus on delivering well-defined solutions, helping teams make informed decisions, improving operational effectiveness, and advancing product strategies that support organizational goals.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Healthcare, health insurance, product strategy, or related business experience.
  • Experience with SQL, Google BigQuery, or similar data analysis tools.
  • Experience supporting cross-functional strategic initiatives from discovery through implementation.

Note:

  • This is a remote, work-from-home position, but the final round of interviews will take place on-site in our Chattanooga, TN HQ.
  • Occasional travel to BCBST locations, including Chattanooga, Tennessee, may be required.
  • Sponsorship is not available for this role.

Job Responsibilities

  • Design, development, assessment, and implementation of organizational management projects, policies, and/or procedures.
  • Identifying business process improvement projects for internal business groups, and making recommendations to management on efficiencies.
  • Conducting cost/benefit evaluations on various external and internal resources.
  • Analyzing business requirements and production specifications to improve the effectiveness of the organization's management operations.

Job Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience required. Equivalent experience is defined as 4 years of professional work experience in a corporate environment

Experience

  • 3 years - Technical or operational experience required

Skills\Certifications

  • Database reporting skills utilizing Access, Cognos and data warehouse
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision or function in a team environment sharing responsibility, roles and accountability.
  • Analytical and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint)
  • Must be a team player, be organized and have the ability to handle multiple projects
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
