The posting

Brailsford & Dunlavey (B&D), which now includes Project Management Advisors (PMA), is seeking a Project Manager to join our Life Sciences team in Boston.

This is a hybrid role based in Boston, MA, on a hybrid basis

The Opportunity

At Brailsford & Dunlavey (B&D), we lead the planning, development, and management of the places that shape and strengthen communities—where people live, learn, work, and innovate. B&D partners with institutions, municipalities, and organizations to deliver complex real estate and capital projects through strategic advisory and program management services across the full project lifecycle.

B&D recently joined forces with Project Management Advisors (PMA), bringing together two nationally recognized leaders in program management and real estate advisory services. Together, the combined firm offers expanded capabilities across industries and end-to-end project delivery- from early-stage strategy through design, construction, and occupancy.

Our Life Sciences team supports the development of cutting-edge laboratory, research, and biotech facilities across the country, working with clients to deliver technically complex and mission-critical environments.

As a Project Manager, you will work directly with clients, architects, engineers, and contractors to manage planning, design, and construction activities for new builds, renovations, and tenant improvements in the life sciences sector.

How You’ll Contribute

  • Serve as the primary liaison between clients and project teams throughout the full project lifecycle
  • Manage planning, design, and construction activities for life science facilities, including new construction and tenant improvements
  • Develop, monitor, and maintain project budgets, schedules, and reporting tools to ensure alignment with project goals
  • Review architectural and engineering drawings to confirm alignment with program requirements and client objectives
  • Coordinate procurement of design, construction, and consultant services
  • Support contract development, negotiation, review, and administration for design and construction agreements
  • Facilitate project meetings, prepare agendas, document minutes, and track action items to ensure accountability
  • Provide ongoing analysis of budget and schedule impacts, including review of changes and potential risk mitigation strategies
  • Oversee construction activities in collaboration with design teams to ensure compliance with contract documents and quality standards
  • Support value engineering efforts and evaluate alternative solutions with clients and project teams
  • Coordinate peer reviews and specialty consultants as needed for complex project requirements
  • Authorize and support the processing of contracts, purchase orders, and progress payment applications
  • Monitor construction progress and report on project status, risks, and issues
  • Manage project closeout activities to ensure successful completion and turnover
  • Contribute to business development efforts, including proposals, interviews, and networking opportunities

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience in project management, development, or construction management, ideally within life sciences or complex commercial real estate
  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, Real Estate, Urban Planning, or a related field
  • Demonstrated ability to manage successful projects and consistently meet or exceed client expectations and deadlines
  • Strong understanding of design and construction processes, including document review and contractor coordination
  • Experience managing project budgets, schedules, and reporting systems
  • Ability to interpret and evaluate architectural and engineering documentation
  • Strong communication and relationship management skills with clients, consultants, and contractors
  • Experience supporting contract negotiation, administration, and procurement processes
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

What Sets You Apart

  • You are a proactive self-starter who takes ownership of outcomes
  • You bring strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence to client and team interactions
  • You are confident operating in complex, fast-moving project environments
  • You are highly organized and detail-oriented, especially when managing budgets and schedules
  • You approach challenges with curiosity and a solution-oriented mindset
  • You are comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders, including clients and design/construction leaders
  • You demonstrate integrity, professionalism, and sound judgment in all interactions
  • You are motivated by delivering high-quality projects that have real-world impact
  • You are interested in contributing to team growth and supporting business development efforts

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
