About the Role

We are looking for a Process Engineer to support manufacturing excellence and drive improvements in productivity, process capability and operational performance.

In this role, you will work closely with Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering and other cross-functional teams to identify process losses, implement improvement projects, support validation activities and translate engineering solutions into sustainable production improvements.

This is a hands-on opportunity for an engineer who enjoys problem solving, continuous improvement and seeing projects through from analysis to shopfloor implementation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive process and productivity improvements by identifying opportunities, developing improvement plans and implementing sustainable solutions within the manufacturing unit.
  • Implement and sustain BD Excellence work processes and continuous improvement practices across manufacturing operations.
  • Analyze key manufacturing losses and develop improvement actions to enhance Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), productivity and process performance.
  • Lead and coordinate manufacturing improvement projects, including planning, execution, implementation and follow-through.
  • Manage engineering change and validation activities, including change control, Measurement System Analysis (MSA), process validation and IQ/OQ/PQ.
  • Develop and maintain key manufacturing and engineering documentation, including Process FMEA, work instructions, validation protocols and manufacturing documents.
  • Coordinate and support validation execution, including training and guiding operators involved in validation activities.
  • Coach and engage manufacturing associates in continuous improvement methodologies and support the development of a problem-solving culture on the shopfloor.
  • Participate in broader manufacturing and engineering projects as required to support operational and business priorities.
  • Ensure all activities are conducted in accordance with applicable safety, health, environmental and ISO 14001 requirements, while actively identifying and addressing potential workplace hazards.
  • Support environmental sustainability efforts, including opportunities for reduction, replacement and recycling of resources and materials.
  • Perform other engineering responsibilities as required to support the manufacturing operation.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Electrical, Mechatronics, Chemical Engineering, or a related Engineering discipline.
  • Relevant engineering experience within a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Experience within a medical device, pharmaceutical or other regulated manufacturing environment would be advantageous.
  • Exposure to process improvement, manufacturing engineering, validation or equipment/process optimization would be beneficial.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Good analytical and structured problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Familiarity with OEE, process validation, IQ/OQ/PQ, MSA, PFMEA and change control would be advantageous.
  • Good project coordination and stakeholder management skills.
  • Comfortable working directly with manufacturing operations and supporting activities on the shopfloor.
  • Ability to interpret process performance and identify opportunities to reduce losses and improve productivity.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively across Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering and other cross-functional teams.
  • Proactive, adaptable and able to manage multiple improvement activities and priorities.

What You Will Contribute

As a Process Engineer, you will directly contribute to:

  • Improving manufacturing productivity and OEE.
  • Reducing process losses and improving operational performance.
  • Successful implementation and validation of process and engineering changes.
  • Strengthening continuous improvement capabilities within the manufacturing team.
  • Maintaining robust and compliant manufacturing processes.
  • Supporting a safe, efficient and environmentally responsible manufacturing environment.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
