Bitdeer also offers advanced cloud capabilities to customers with a high demand for artificial intelligence.

Headquartered in Singapore, Bitdeer operates globally with a diversified 3 GW energy portfolio, and deploys Bitcoin mining and HPC datacenters in the United States, Bhutan, Norway, Canada, Malaysia, and Ethiopia.

What you will be responsible for:

  • Responsible for the full-process design, optimization, and implementation of medium and low voltage (10KV~400V) power distribution systems in data centers. This includes system planning, electrical construction drawing preparation, and selection of power distribution equipment, ensuring the system operates safely, efficiently, and complies with relevant standards.
  • Proficient in common data center power distribution architectures (e.g., UPS redundant architecture, power distribution board architecture, and medium and low voltage substations). Capable of independently completing overall distribution system design, load calculations, and solution validation.
  • Responsible for design and review of electrical layout plans, tray systems, and busbar systems. Ensures rational planning of cable routes, tray layouts, and busbar installations, considering feasibility, maintenance convenience, and space utilization, accommodating the high-density distribution needs of the data center.
  • Responsible for lighting system and emergency lighting system design in data centers. This includes planning for standard lighting, maintenance lighting, and emergency evacuation lighting, as well as illumination calculations and power distribution design, ensuring compliance with relevant data center and fire safety regulations.
  • Design of grounding and lightning protection systems. This includes designing reliable grounding networks, lightning down-conductors, and surge protection devices tailored to data center operations to avoid electrical faults caused by lightning or poor grounding, ensuring the safety of IT equipment and the power distribution system.
  • Responsible for the power distribution design of firefighting systems, including power arrangements for fire pumps, smoke exhaust fans, and fire alarm systems, and dual power transfer design to ensure reliable power supply for firefighting systems in accordance with fire safety codes.
  • Responsible for harmonic filtering and reactive power compensation design for power distribution systems, optimizing power quality, reducing line losses, addressing harmonic interference, and ensuring power factor compliance for the operation of high-precision equipment in the data center.
  • Perform short circuit current and load calculations, using the results for selection and setting of protective devices such as circuit breakers and fuses. Ensure proper coordination of the power distribution system’s protective measures, minimizing safety risks due to short circuits or overloads.
  • Coordinate with construction units and equipment suppliers to carry out technical clarifications, oversee on-site construction, and resolve technical issues related to medium and low voltage power distribution during construction. Ensure quality and progress control during the construction phase and participate in the testing and acceptance of the power distribution systems.
  • Strictly adhere to national and industry standards (e.g., GB 50174 "Code for Design of Data Centers", GB 51348 "Standard for Electrical Design of Civil Buildings"). Candidates familiar with NEC codes and UL standards will be given preference, ensuring all design deliverables are compliant.
  • Develop operation and maintenance plans for power distribution systems, identify and resolve potential risks and electrical faults during operation, optimize system parameters, and ensure 24/7 uninterrupted power supply to the data center. Assist in organizing and updating technical documentation and design drawings.

How you will stand out:

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Electrical Engineering and Automation, Power System Automation, Power Distribution Engineering, or related fields.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in medium and low voltage power distribution design/operation and maintenance.
  • Prior experience in large-scale data center projects (≥1000 racks) is preferred.
  • Proficiency in the design, operation, and maintenance of 10KV~400V medium and low voltage power distribution systems, with deep understanding of common data center power distribution architectures.
  • Ability to independently complete power distribution system design and electrical construction drawings (proficient in using software such as CAD, EPLAN, etc.).
  • Skilled in electrical layout, cable tray systems, and busbar systems design, with the ability to plan cable routing, optimize tray/busbar layouts, and provide technical guidance during on-site construction.
  • Expertise in the design of lighting systems and emergency lighting systems in data centers, including illumination calculations and emergency power configuration, with knowledge of relevant design standards.
  • Proficient in grounding protection system and lightning protection system design, capable of independently designing grounding networks and selecting lightning protection devices, with expertise in surge protection technologies.
  • Familiarity with the design principles of fire protection power distribution systems, including the classification of fire loads and dual power supply switching, ensuring compliance and reliability.
  • Technical proficiency in harmonic filtering and reactive power compensation, with the ability to independently design reactive power compensation solutions and select harmonic filtering devices to optimize power quality.
  • Competence in independently conducting short circuit current and load calculations, using relevant computing tools, and applying the results to select and set protection devices.
  • Familiarity with relevant national and industry standards like GB 50174, GB 51348, GB 50057, and GB 50016, ensuring compliance across design, construction, and operation.
  • Familiarity with U.S. NEC electrical codes and UL standards, with design/operation and maintenance experience in data centers following U.S. standards.
  • Possession of certifications such as Registered Electrical Engineer (Power Distribution), High Voltage Electrician License, or PMP (Project Management Professional) is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with data center power distribution system testing, commissioning, and fault emergency handling, and familiarity with key equipment such as UPS, transformers, and circuit breakers.
  • Strong project management and coordination skills, with the ability to efficiently liaise with internal and external stakeholders (e.g., owners, supervisors, contractors, suppliers).
  • Strong sense of responsibility, execution capabilities, and ability to perform well under pressure.
  • Logical and precise thinking, with excellent problem-solving skills for addressing technical challenges in the design, construction, and operation of distribution systems.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
