Job Description:
Blake Willson Group (BWG) is seeking an experienced Federal Financial Accounting & Reporting Manager to oversee financial accounting operations, reporting support, and contractor team coordination for Federal financial management programs. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience with the United States Standard General Ledger (USSGL), Oracle PeopleSoft Federal financial systems, and Federal financial statement reporting requirements, including year-end close and audit readiness. In this position, you will also:
- Coordinate contractor team activities, quality control, and integration of General Ledger (GL) management, asset accounting, and financial reporting support.
- Oversee Capitalized Line-Item Number (CLIN) reconciliation support and related financial management activities.
- Manage staffing, schedules, deliverables, and issue escalation to ensure consistent and timely contract performance.
- Serve as the primary Contractor point of contact for day-to-day contract performance matters, coordinating with designated Government representatives.
- Support period-end and year-end financial close activities, ensuring reporting deliverables align with applicable Federal requirements.
- Apply a strong understanding of OMB Circular A-136, the Treasury Financial Manual (TFM), and Federal financial statement audit requirements.
- Monitor work quality and ensure financial accounting and reporting activities comply with applicable standards and contractual requirements.
- Coordinate financial reporting activities across teams and stakeholders while recognizing that Government approval authority remains with designated Government officials.
Required Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in Federal financial accounting, including the United States Standard General Ledger (USSGL).
- 5+ years of experience supporting Oracle PeopleSoft Federal financial programs, including General Ledger (GL) and Asset Management (AM) modules.
- Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification.
Desired Skills:
- Experience leading Federal financial accounting and reporting engagements.
- Experience managing teams supporting year-end close efforts within the Department of War (DoW) or the Intelligence Community (IC).
- Experience overseeing financial reporting deliverables across multiple workstreams or contract requirements.
- Familiarity with Federal financial management systems, audit readiness initiatives, and financial statement preparation.
- Demonstrated understanding of OMB Circular A-136, the Treasury Financial Manual (TFM), and Federal financial statement audit requirements.
- Experience coordinating financial reporting activities, reconciliation support, and period-end or year-end close processes.
- Strong leadership, organizational, analytical, and stakeholder coordination skills.
At Blake Willson Group, we believe in transparency and fairness in compensation practices. For this position, we offer a competitive salary range of $150,000 to $190,000 in the United States. Your individual salary within this range will be determined by various factors, including but not limited to your education, experience, skills, and geographic location.
