Experience with class actions is also an asset.

This is an opportunity for a lawyer with 2 to 3 years of litigation experience to take on meaningful file responsibility, gain direct client exposure and continue developing strong courtroom and advocacy skills within one of Canada’s leading disputes practices.

We are looking for a strong and motivated advocate with excellent legal research, analysis and drafting skills. The successful candidate will be a member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario and demonstrate sound judgment, strategic thinking and practical problem-solving abilities, together with the ability to manage a high volume of files effectively and work collaboratively as part of a high-performing disputes team.

The successful candidate can expect to build hands-on advocacy experience across a range of disputes, including:

· drafting and reviewing statements of defence, motions, affidavits, mediation briefs, settlement documents and other litigation materials;

· conducting examinations for discovery and preparing clients and witnesses for examinations;

· developing litigation strategy and working directly with clients and senior members of the team;

· attending motions, case conferences and other court appearance and preparing materials for trial.

At BLG, Associates are given the opportunity to build their practices through progressively greater responsibility, direct client exposure and hands-on advocacy experience. The successful candidate will work alongside experienced litigators on challenging and sophisticated matters in a collaborative team environment, with access to top-tier training, mentorship and apprenticeship, and professional development.

Interested candidates must submit a cover letter, CV and law transcripts through BLG’s Workday applicant portal.

The expected salary range for this position is $155,000 - $180,000, depending on level of experience, region/location, and other factors.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
