The posting

At Bloomberg Industry Group, our Core, AI & Search team builds the shared foundation for AI-powered experiences across Bloomberg Law, Bloomberg Tax, and Bloomberg Government. We help professionals find trusted answers and complete complex work, while enabling product teams to deliver better experiences faster.

We are seeking a Senior Technical Product Manager to own the technical product strategy and roadmap for AI evaluation, quality, safety, and guardrails. You will help teams assess and adopt the latest models and capabilities with confidence.

Working with Engineering, Data Science, product teams, and domain experts, you will shape how we measure and improve AI across real professional workflows, from development through production. Your work will help teams deliver more useful answers, safer agents, and better customer outcomes.

What You Will Do:

  • Own and evolve the technical product strategy and roadmap for shared AI evaluation frameworks, tooling, safety controls, and guardrails
  • Continuously compare the latest models and capabilities on real professional tasks, and guide adoption based on quality, safety, speed, and cost
  • Turn agreed evaluation standards into shared methods and benchmark datasets with domain experts and product teams, combining automated testing with expert review
  • Evaluate models, prompts, agents, and complete workflows for accuracy, relevance, source support, safe tool use, and successful task completion, partnering with Search on retrieval quality
  • Translate quality goals into testable requirements, and partner with Engineering and AI Platform to embed evaluation in development, release, and production workflows
  • Lead product priorities for AI safety and guardrails with Engineering, Legal, and Privacy, addressing unreliable outputs, unsafe actions, transparency, and human oversight
  • Partner with AI Platform and Security to test safeguards against prompt injection, misuse, and data exposure, and address failures
  • Give business and product teams clear evidence of quality, risks, and limitations to support their acceptance and release decisions
  • Use production traces, incidents, customer feedback, and expert review to improve evaluation datasets, detect regressions, and measure answer quality, task success, and safety
  • Help teams adopt evaluation and guardrail services through useful documentation, onboarding, and clear routes for feedback and support
  • Evaluate build, buy, and partner options, and prioritize delivery with Engineering as technology, dependencies, and customer needs evolve
  • Communicate recommendations and trade-offs clearly to technical and business leaders, and mentor other Product Managers and Technical Product Managers

What You Need to Have:

  • 7-10 years of experience building and shipping technology-powered products, with at least 3 years owning technical or platform product execution (e.g., Technical PM, Platform PM, IR/ML PM, Solution Architect, or Engineering Lead)
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data/Information Systems, or a related technical field - or equivalent practical experience
  • Strong understanding of modern software and platform architectures, including APIs, data models, cloud-based and distributed systems, and data infrastructure
  • Proven ability to partner with senior engineers and technical leaders to influence architecture-level decisions and navigate complex technical trade-offs
  • Demonstrated data-driven decision making, using performance metrics, experimentation, telemetry, and logs to guide product strategy and prioritization
  • Experience producing clear, high-quality technical requirements, user stories, and system-level documentation
  • Solid grasp of modern delivery and operational practices, including Agile methodologies, CI/CD, observability, reliability engineering, and technical debt management
  • Familiarity with DevOps, SRE, security, and compliance considerations in production systems
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear guidance for cross-functional and non-technical stakeholders
  • Willingness to travel to other Bloomberg offices as needed

Compensation Range:

$180,000.00-$230,000.00

Placement in the salary range will be decided upon completion of the interview process. Salary determination will be determined based on factors including but not limited to relevant experience, demonstrated skills related to the requirements of the role, education, certifications, and geographic location.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
